Ascotexgunner Best Reading player yesterday was the Goalpost........

There is a trend developing-3 times v WBA as well.

2 against QPR. 2. Stoke, 2, WBA, (dunno where you got 3 from) 2 yesterday.
We certaily owe the woodwork a dept of gratitude since JG came in.

Hitting the post doesn't even count as a shot on target

Most come because defences force attackers to shoot from further out

They're often a lot closer to being goals than many shots on target though.

Nobody said they did count as shots on tatget (pedant)-it was fairly lightweight discussion over the fact that opposition have appeared to hit our woodwork quite a lot-nothing more than that,, just an observation.

Not so daft Zip-see UKE's post that includes shots of the Vietnam War-thus the reply to Spizz who was clearly confused having earlier mentioned Cheltenham-doh.

I was going to say that you jumped in quicker than Chris Gunter does when making a tackle and then desisted because Chris Gunter so rarely makes a tackle.

You could reasonably argue that shots going just wide, or shots hitting the post
are because (almost always) because the opposition is forced to shoot from a
non-deal distance and/or position.

Give a shooting chance inside 6 yards, presumably a high percentage DON'T hit the post,
but, instead, go in or force a save.

Give same, say inside 18 yards, presumably the on-target percentage goes up, and,
in turn the number of goals goes up.

Shots don't mean much, shots ON TARGET mean more.

I doubt if Miazga and Moore keep a count of the times oppo's hit the woodwork
