Notts Royal
Hound I'd certainly be happy with the signing based on what I can see about him. If it happens be very interested to see how the deal is structured being as he is out of contract end of the season, and apparently worth a few quid. I'd be surprised however if we were able to afford any sort of transfer fee

Still wouldn't be surprised if we see a big name departure in the next week looking at some of our signings

You’d expect it to be Barrow if this chap is a winger

was thinking the same yesterday. It could be that Barrow makes way although, the thought of this chap starting for 60 mins and then Barrow coming on for the last 30 would be something!

Or Forbes has him pencilled in for a house showing.

What is it about the free transfer and loan signings that make you think a big name will leave?

Not saying they won't but so far the signings tie up with what I would have expected us to do this summer in our current position whilst retaining our "crown jewels". If Boye, does arrive and is anything other than a loan, I may well change my view.

Well that’s what I meant - it Boye joins. I believe - though may be totally wrong, that he is in the last year of his contract. Therefore doubt it’s a loan and would have thought we’d have to pay a fee

Ah ok - yeah if he has joined permanently and we have spent a sizeable amount then possibly. If he has joined permanently though, it may be something similar to what we do with some unwanted players with potential i.e. Jack Stacey- sell them for next to nothing and insert a 40% (or more) sell on clause.

For all we know there is a clause in his contract that allows his current club to extend for a year when it expires.....

Or he has told them he won’t sign a new deal next year so has no transfer value anyway (known as doing a Sidwell I believe)

should certainly provide another option. Him and Meite on either wing would be quite a physical prospect - its interesting to see how our signings this season all have pretty strong physical attributes. We were undoubtedly soft at times last year.

Could be lining up with Blackett, Moore, Miazga, Morrison, Novakovich, Meite, Adam and 'The Bull' at times this season. All big lumps.

If he is to be used more on the left wing, then it frees up Barrow to play centrally more frequently. Also adds more fluidity to our front line with most of the players being able to play anywhere across the attacking positions.

I assume tomorrow is too soon for him.

My biggest concern is things like cultural adaptation to Championship and language barrier with rest of the squad. Manage that well and it looks like a very exciting signing.

The move remains subject to international clearance approval and the normal ratification procedures from the relevant football authorities.
