I've so many great memories of this era. That season 92-93, the second half of it when the team seemed to gel, was the birth of the modern RFC we have today. Kevin Dillon seemed to be rooted in the centre circle pulling the strings like a midfield general with pinpoint accurate passing.
Without Mark McGhee, and at the time Mr Mad saving the club and his still modest investment at the time, we would probably be still bumbling around the lower divisions like Exeter City in a delapidated Elm Park. A real "sliding doors" time for our club.
Great memories! I'd been watching the Royals for about three seasons at this point. This was the time I fell in love with the club. Jimmy & Archie were amazing the year we went up from the third tier. I remember Port Vale and Stockport in particular (their front two were massive, Francis and Preece) had particularly good sides and Hull always brought a big following down.
