Snowflake Royal Not prepared to write Puscas off yet. There's a player in there, but the whole team is playing badly and we're expecting a young inexperienced player to come in and get off to a flyer. He should really be being eased into the division off the bench, rather than made the saviour.

He’s scoring goals at international level and has missed a number of absolute sitters for us. You would have buried half of them. If he can’t finish off his chances he needs to be dropped. Just like Virginia.

Not averse to him being dropped. Not interested in writing him off/ Virginia doesn't look remotely up to it. Puscas is just missing chances and is way further along in his development.

I wouldn’t write him off but we can Ill afford his inability to convert such gilt edged chances. Given our hopeless record of recovering from behind I have zero faith we can get anything again today. Another defeat it is then.

Sutekh So when do we start blaming the management rather than the players? Would suggest we have players with the technical ability to at least be comfortable in this division but after an initial burst why are they now such an utter shambles on the pitch?

The management does look at fault. But it's still early days, and being at fault doesn't mean needs sacking or booing, yet.

Its certainly management. Its our defensive tactics. We have too many players waiting for a counter or a second ball. Too much backing off.

We dont play a high enough defensive line imo and the gap between our defence and midfield is far too exploitable. We are essentially trying to defend with 3 men.

Since Joao has come on and we've scrapped the 3 defenders we've looked slightly better.

We must scrap 3 at the back every week. It's not working, we've let in so many goals that have come from the wings. If Gomes won't change the system then he'll be changed!

Tbf Vydra then went to derby and scored a shit load. Can see the comparison with puscas and maybe not dissimilar atm. But still worth persevering with long term (if we don’t get relegated that is)

Agree the three at the back just isn’t working, Our centre backs are far too slow at bringing the ball out of defence. Our wingbacks get caught out too often and our opponents are being afforded far too much space.
Miazga needs to be one of two centre backs. I don’t who the other one is. Back to a flat back four for now.

At the other end we have similarly serious problems. Our two expensive forwards have ( Cardiff apart) been appalling.

3 at the back was the answer to getting smashed on the wings. It was the same problem with 4 at the back because our full / wing backs play too high as full on wingers no matter the shape.

Feel like we would score more with a 4-3-3.

Boye off (before he gets sent off) Barrett on but can’t even get that right and start the 2nd half with 10

We do seem to have lost the plot. Our owners must be seriously pissed off given all the money that has been pissed away on crap signings over the past 2/3 years.

Maybe Keith Stroud can't count to 11, rather than automatically assuming it was our fault?

Not seeing a great manager in Gomes.
However, it’s not his fault a goalkeeper can’t hold onto a ball, strikers that can’t score from 5 yards, midfielders who can’t pass accurately to someone from 5 yards.
They have no speed and are unable to press the opposition which every successful club does.
It’s pretty shambolic really.

Not spent huge amounts tbf this year. And plenty of time for Puscas and Joao to come good

Would certainly be very disappointed with where we are though. Those 3 defeats against average sides was pretty piss poor

It’s about £12 million on Puscas and Joao. That’s more than most others in the division have spent.

It's all a bit veiled and weirdly structured though. So not clear what we've actually committed to at this point, what in the future and what on conditions being met.

Our ratio of goals from attempts at goal is pitiful.
