Could genuinely talk about Ian all day. He fascinates me.

What an achievement that’d be

Not sure caretaker managers count because it`s normally only a couple of games but i can only think of 7 since SSC left.
McDermott
Adkins
Clarke.
McDermott again.
Stam
Clement
Gomes.

I’m surprised Kia Joorabchian doesn’t have any managerial links and contacts that we could pursue.

Old Man Andrews Don't know about anyone else but the Reading manager search is getting very Brexit for me. I cared at first but right now I'm so bored of the speculation and idiotic comments relating to it I just want it over and done with one way or another.

It's been 4 days

Goodness knows how you coped with the gap between Pardew and Coppell

Did spot via the TE site that Bowen was apparently close to the Swansea job

He might be alright, certainly had plenty of time to learn the job as Hughes assistant

I certainly wouldn’t be throwing the toys out the pram about it, but not particularly excited by it. Though as mentioned elsewhere, not being exciting might be the man we need atm

It's not the length of time that's annoying it's the speculation and stupidity on social media that's the annoyance. I can wait ages for the right appointment but seemingly the longer it goes the stupidity amongst the supporters grows. "IM RIPPING UP MY SEASON TICKET IT BOWEN GETS THE JOB" etc etc.

Oh I agree with you on that. You can bet your bottom dollar those idiots will be back in the stadium as soon as Bowen wins a couple of games. Thankfully we didn't have social media back in the Pardew/Coppell days.

Saw someone try to make out they cut up their season ticket the other day in the wake of the Gomes sacking. They unfortunately left the corner of the card in the photo that had "Barclays Premiership" on it. :D

Interesting we've had as many managers in the last 6 years since SJM relinquished control than the 25 years after he appointed McGhee.

McGhee
Gooding/Quinn
Bullivant
Burns
Pardew
Coppell
Rodgers
McDermott

Vs

Adkins
Clarke
McDermott
Stam
Clement
Gomes
Bowen??

Very stark

Not at all. We’ve been going through a very turbulent 5 plus years. It’s not good.

The average time a manager gets in a job is very different to back in your day Leon, facts.

You’re right OMA, the 1950s were a great time to be vaguely alive.

The concern must be that one day the Chinese love of buying football clubs as trophy's will wane. Just in the same way that buying Hamleys, House of Fraser and Thomas Cook has proved to be an unmitigated financial disaster. With rumours abounding that Pizza Express could be the next to topple. Maybe entreprenuers in their own right back home. Overseas they've a lot to learn.
