BFTG Millwall Away

by PieEater » 18 Jan 2020 19:09

We weren't very good. Millwall worked hard to stop up playing and the game looked to be headed for 0-0. They get a lucky deflection from a corner, the rub salt into the wound with a breakaway goal following a clear foul we didn't get.

We had one chance all game that Swift hit over the top. We offered very little.

Really need to move Ejaria back into the middle, he`s totally wasted out wide.

Blatant handball apparently in the build up for the opener as well. Not doing good with referee decisions currently.

They had plenty of chances second half so they deserved to win ... we were pretty poor particularly second half.

Looked the wrong day to try one touch short passing. Heavy pitch. Pretty cold. And Millwall team had far more energy constantly closing down and harrying us.

Simply beaten by a far better side on the day . Millwall's work rate was exceptional , they worked their socks off and thoroughly deserved their win. We were very poor constantly giving the ball away and never in the game. Several players were well below par with Blackett being the pick with a truly nightmare performance. We move on.

That's what I meant - was it aimed at anyone in particular? Some articles seem to hint it was

How much is that big lad they had upfront? He looked like he knew where the goal was.

Concur. Outplayed.

Nothing stuck upfront. All three useless. Swift and Ejaria didn’t get into it. Once Adam departed we were looking for 0-0. Their pressure paid off. Goal was just one of those that fell kindly in the box. Second goal a break after Puscas screwed up but the game was already pretty much done. Disappointing after Fulham. Missed Joao!!

I know we didnt look like scoring and Millwall were better for most of the game but I have to comment on the tactical decision to take Pele off and bring McCleary on. Really left us exposed. Hope he leaves that experiment behind in London.

Yes I agree we were horribly outplayed. Thought pele was ok for once so yes I was surprised by that too. Everyone just a bit slower and ejaria and swift didn't show their quality like we are used to. Rafael not to blame and made some good saves. We offered nothing going forward.

Pele good for once? He's been quality for the last 8 games or so.

Dreadful performance. Millwall I thought we’re excellent. Went to win every ball, great down the wings and put some great crosses in. Puscas terrible when he came on and at fault for their goal.

Baldock and Swift had two massive chances to put us ahead. Very little for the fans to get excited about.

Biggest cheer of the day was for the two Reading kids who put a shift in to win the relay race at half time!!
