STAR's RFC Hall of Fame 2020

by STAR Liaison » 24 Feb 2020 10:10

It's exactly a month to the day to STAR's Reading FC Hall of Fame annual event when we'll be inducting 25 more people.

The event is free and open to all (not just STAR members). It takes place at the Princess Suite, Madejski Stadium on Monday 23 March, doors open from 7.30pm for 8pm start.

There'll be a brief bio of each inductee accompanied by line engravings, photos, moving goal action pictures, whatever was suitable to the age - we cover the ground from the 1870s - somebody from the first ever-known Reading line-up to heroes of the 2010s. Several of those still living will be with us on the night to receive their awards and to say a few words - including some real star names. In past years we've heard directly from Martin Hicks, Graeme Murty, Kevin Doyle, Roger Smee and Nicky Shorey to name but some. The new names for 2020 will be revealed on the night.

You're welcome to attend, enjoy and celebrate some great moments and great men of our past.

Tim Dellor to present the Award to Adam Federici, followed by a traditional blowjob.

Surely Baz Savage has to moonwalk on to collect his.

It sounds like STAR have already decided who is getting the awards, I assume you're not looking for a HNA? poll to add some more?

(Jimmy Kebe would win!)

genome I will personally present Cedric Baseya with his award.

Why are you so eager to present Cedric with an award?

Ah, it makes sense now - Good luck with that genome.

Also explains why nobody wants to give Sonko an award.

which player do you lot reckon to deserve to go into the HOF with the least number of appearances. i.e. who had the greatest impact in a really short time here, for instance, could Jason Roberts make the list 28 league games? any other contenders?

If you're talking loan players - Sekou Baradji

Jason Roberts is a good shout, had a massive impact on that promotion season.

For low appearances and a big impact, Yakubu scored the winning goal against Derby to send us into the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup.

Lewis Baker or Oliveria. Without those 2 we would be plying our trade a division lower this year and who knows when we would have ever returned. Or if we could have done a Bury.

Good shout, you could argue that without Yakubu, we wouldn't have made it to the semi-final.

Looking forward to this as I am presenting the award for one of this year's inductees. Sworn to secrecy however.
