Do we dare to dream?

We’re 8 points off the play offs with nine games left. Do we dare to dream?

Only 9 points off relegation, still in the bottom half of the table.. there are lots of teams between us and the playoffs. I would say you can dare to dream (as all fickle football fans do, I include myself in this) that is half the fun and we are in good form. But I'd be more than happy with top half, that is probably a dream that is more likely to come true..having said all that I do have a bet on from after the home Cardiff game last year that we will make playoffs, haven't cashed out..

No. Anyway, IF we did make the play offs, with our record it would just be another disappointment. Better to miss out this year and go for automatic next year than have the disappointment carry over into next season, like it did last time.

We have too much to do but the teams above us up to and including Preston are nothing special. Finish strongly this season and make a push next season

It's a VERY long shot to reach the PO's, VERY VERY

They are typically 40-1 to make the top six (one bookie says 150-1)

But if we did we would have momentum, and could
make the final, even win it.

We are capable of losing games 3-0 but also,
on our day, a very good side

I'd be happy with a McDermott surge to 9th
setting us up for next year.

Relegation?

Reading are 300-1 to be relegated

Relegation teams struggle to pick up more than a point a game.
For Charlton to catch us, they would need a point a game with us
losing nine on the bounce. Ain't gonna happen

Let's face it - we make it to the playoffs then lose them we will be scared of another collapse next season.

We make it to the playoffs and win them we will just be humiliated in the PL.

Better to just missout on them make some good signings in the summer and push for it next season .

It’s unlikely but three wins in the next three and teams will start talking about us

Noticed that quite a few of the playoff chasing teams play each other too so there’s always chances to close the gap there

But, being one of nine teams to chase 1/2 spots, it’s very unlikely

Ideally we need to be playing them to close the gap. As it is someone is going to pick up points whatever the result.

With the amount of money for promotion, with good recruitment, anyone who goes up can stay up.

To be fair, we still play Derby, Blackburn and Swansea who are all up there with a shout

Even Brentford may still be caught, with two tough games coming up for them before our game in Fulham away and WBA home

Never say never. WNG, WNG and it becomes a 16-1 shot. Win 3 on the trot and we’d be 4/5 points off with 6 to play but with HUGE momentum

You need 70 to half any chance. That takes seven wins and a draw out of 9

Just to have a CHANCE

NAH

People who say “not this year, we will crash and burn, let’s do it next year etc” are utterly nuts.

Fck waiting for next year, since Bowen took over we're in 5th place, there's always a team that makes a late run for the playoffs, why can't it be us this year? We are very very capable of turning it on (and equally turning it off) and as we have seen this team responds massively to the 'buzz' of the crowd.

Strange stat but from 4th placed Brentford to 11th placed Swansea:

Between them, combined, they have 12 wins out of 48. We put a decent run together and who knows what'll happen. We don't exactly have a difficult run in either

Personally think top 6 will end up as Leeds, WBA, Fulham, Brentford, Millwall and Cardiff but I think we'll be closer than people think

We have Stoke at the Madejski on Saturday. If we give Stoke the respect we gave to Wigan and we see another abject performance at home (Like we did just 13 days ago!) then we can wave good bye to an optimistic late charge.

Obviously we need that WNG mentality - but more importantly what we really need is Bowen to pick up consistent form in our home games. No point in talking about playoffs or promotion, this season or next, until that happens.
