NewCorkSeth How long has Sweet Caroline been our kick off song and, more importantly, why?

Not sure why, since the McDermott days I think 2012ish? It’s quite random.

In contrast Stoke have sung Delilah for decades, as long as I can remember anyway.

Its very random. There doesn't seem to be a single connection. Very odd.

Sutekh Would expect a line up similar to that which did well over xmas so...

33 Rafael
2 Gunter
4 Morrison
6 Moore
24 Blackett
10 Swift
26 Adam
29 Pele
19 Meite
31 Joao
14 Ejaria

Substitutes

Walker
Miazga
Olise
Rinomhota
Obita
McCleary
Baldock
McIntyre
Puscas

I would be disappointed if Adam started ahead of Rinomhota. Would prefer Miazga for Morrison. Puscas was in good form before lockdown and I don’t think he deserves to be dropped for Joao.

It's time it was dumped.

Are Kingsley and Queensley allow at the game? I've not noticed any mascots at the other matches.

As I recall it was a song from the 2005/2006 season the players took to in the changing room before a game and Glen Little, I think, happened to mention this at some point or other and club decided it’s as good as anything.

Until the fans get together and come up with an alternative that they sing at every game we’ll all be stuck with it.

Can anyone explain why Stoke are favourites at the bookies for this game?

We are the home team, with an almost fully fit squad that should be play-off contenders.

Playing a team that are below us and we were on a decent run of form before the suspension. Plus they’ve had no manager for a week or so.

Lump on I say!

Because the 106ers liked it. And about 5 or 6 years I think.

Why would most of the world think we're play off contenders when we're mid-table and have previously just survived 2 relegation battles?

But yeah, Stoke being favourites is a bit odd.

Might it be because they are owned by a major bookies ?

I'm going to make the assumption there is something with Miazga and Pele's loan agreements then, can't think of any reason they couldn't make it into a matchday 20

So no Pele and Miazga in the squad which is disappointing. Four at the back but no CDM. Is this 4-2-3-1 with Joao as a lone striker?

Or could be we cannot afford them next season so Bowen is looking at other options. In all honestly this next 9 games are like a glorified pre season for us, there's so much dross below us (look at Boro today) we cannot possibly get dragged into the relegation mix

It would seem behind closed doors games eliminates home advantage altogether, 1 win in 8 league games (1 still in play)
