listened to the McShane one. Was pretty interesting. Basically without giving spoilers, said he was constantly injured for much of the last 2 years, hence why he was rubbish when he did play

Nothing too juicy, though was very very critical of the recruitment policy over the last couple of years, without naming names

Good listen though

Explained what happened in his argument with Williams up at Boro too, short story was it was simply two fiery characters

Not a podcast but related Low got an interview with Alex Fernandez today too, who basically said sacking Clarke was a huge mistake and he said just as he was adapting to Clarke’s demands to get a run in the team, he was sacked. I always liked what I saw of Fernández but when you consider we had Norwood who was excellent, Quinn who was always a very good option when fit, same with Tish and Williams who was well liked by most people, it was always difficult for him to get a proper run

Hearing these little snippets from players though, and from what we saw on the pitch under McDermott (certainly at the end anyway), doesn’t look like he had much support from the players

There's a new BBC Reading FC Podcast out this week (Monday) with Mark Bowen & Liam Moore discussing the Cornovirus impact with Tim Dellor - not listened to it yet - available on BBC Sounds, Apple Podcasts, probably other places too

Not really apologise. Said he shouldn’t have done it but understandable when you listen to it

I've downloaded soundcloud on my iphone, If you type Jamie Cureton in there are a few other podcasts with him on that might be worth a listen to.

'Undr the Cosh' has just released an episode with Glen Little. An early episode was with Andy Griffin too. Ex Reading players and Coppell often get a mention in other episodes including Andy Hughes being named the strangest player!

Strictly speaking, not an “ex player” here but 25 minute podcast with Jose Gomes

Haven’t seen it myself but apparently covers the Gunter/McCleary saga amongst other things

The most recent Moore interview on EPR was really good - he’s a really decent bloke and a good captain. Critical of himself but loves the club.

Same goes for McShane who I always felt was a good captain and a decent signing for us - it was clear injuries impacted his downfall.

Listened to the Noel Hunt one yesterday - another guy who loved the club. At the time it frustrates me when he played in front of Alfie but no doubting he was a great signing for us.

What is clear throughout all these podcasts is the importance of recruiting the right characters to the club and an issue we’ve faced for the last 5 or so years

Michael Gilkes is the podcast interviewee on the clubs own podcast service (think it’s called The Royal Exchange)
Ady Williams is interviewed on a podcast for Elm Park Royals

Makes it even sadder how we treated McDermott. The guy was basically Mr Reading FC. The club hasn't been the same since and not sure it ever will be.

Very true. There seems to be, after the SC and BmD, no one who really ‘cared’ about the club left.

I know that’s. A massive generalisation but hey.

Quite a lot of money spent on players who just came and went and a managerial merry go round.

Good listening. I'd have grilled Shorey on his poor form in 07/08, including his aberration of a performance against Fulham, a little more though.

Charlie Austen on the I Had Trials podcast last week. Very briefly touched on his time at RFC and said he quit at 15 as he had done well beforehand but was behind growth wise and could no longer keep up physically. Did say if he didnt quit he would have been released anyway as he had started doing so badly.
