Start in June and be finished end July. It’s doable but what about social distancing? The players would clearly be at risk from infection.

Would need stingent testing regimes and imagine players would need to be essentially quarantined in hotels and ferried to games/training.

Assume the 56 days is to include the play-offs - so regular season likely to be done in 49 days at the most - so a game every 5 days or so - arguably a better schedule than a usual season.

and what of those teams that (possibly) could still be severely depleted and handicapped due those restrictions still emplaced?

Wishful thinking for clubs and fans alike to get things completed, but will still court controversy from the wounded parties.

There is a potential huge problem if the virus spreads inside just one football club.
As Stranded suggests all players are going to have to be completely isolated in hotels which in itself a problem.

Its a joke.

Wimbledon and Open Golf both in July - cancelled.

I just can't see how the games get played unless they make radical changes to next season

The season has lost it’s momentum now. The campaign is a mess. Unfair advantages and disadvantages have been gained by various clubs with the closedown.
The best bet in my opinion is to call it a day on this season and hope that we can start again this coming August.

Just carry the points and games played over into the new season so the Championship is decided over 83 games at the end of 2020/21.
Start the new season in September but with no FA Cup or League Cup.

Keep the FA Cup....but your suggestion is the best I've heard without upsetting absolutely everybody.
It also means that the transfer window can continue as normal.

2 weeks for playoffs, so 40 - 45 days for 9 games. Perfectly doable

Thought that sounded a terrible idea but on thinking about it, it could work

Scrap the play offs altogether and have promotion decided simply by league position.

Best way forward for me. Schedule the new season with the remaining 9 games first. Points count to 2019/20 and 20/21. Title awarded to winner of 19/20 in October.

Promotion/relegation decided in May 21 based on average of the 2 seasons. So say we finish on 60 pts this year but get up to 80 next, our total is 70. Say Leeds win the League with 85pts but next season finish 10th with 65. They still get a shot at the play-offs as they have 75pts.

Average is a little fairer in my mind and applying points twice means Champions can be named even if no promotion exists. Be a bit like us finishing 2nd the one year that didn't guarantee promotion.

Puscas wouldn’t be, he spends the entire game in isolation anyway

No he doesn’t
What about the centre back either climbing all over his shoulders or with his arms wrapped round him ?

Don’t see the problem. Our players are never within 2 metres of the people they’re trying to mark anyway. Useless fcuks.

Won't need 2 weeks if played behind closed doors. Can be done with in 7 or 8 days.

1st legs Friday. 2nd legs Monday. Finals Saturday.

Play all 3 finals on the same day at different stadiums.

L2 at 12pm. L1 at 3pm Championship at 6pm.

yep, 3 up 3 down

Play-offs are just there to add a bit more interest at the end of a normal season to reduce the number of dead games in the last few weeks
