Old Man AndrewsHendoSnowflake Royal Baldock's got a place depending on how we play. But not if we're going one up without a plan to shift to two upfront, whether it's 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. Unless maybe he's our answer to left wing, but that seems very unlikely.
Agree, not good value, and that will breed discontent as he's one of the higher earners.
Imagine being Meite - top scorer two years running and probably earning 5 - 10k a week less than a guy who doesn't always make the squad.
Decent age difference between them though and relative experience, if Meite keeps his performances up, I'd expect an improved contract to be offered which would take him level or above Baldock.
Also, if Meite's contract has a nice goal scoring bonus included, I am sure he has been comped to a satisfactory level
I can see someone coming in for Meite, ideally don't want to lose him as he has proven himself to be a very good player at Championship level. Can we resist a large bid? Doubtful.
Harder player to replace than someone like Swift so I think if an offer came in, they'd try and hold off until they had a replacement lined up. Would also say if he can keep the performance up next year, and even bigger offer could come in for him.
