Swift Offer

by Westwood52 » 02 Jul 2020 23:25

If it’s true offers have been received for Swift of £3.5 mill. This is bloody insulting and Howe should tell them to treble their offer or bugger off.Why however anyone would think he could play in the Prem escapes me.

in these current times, you can't blame a club for going in with a low offer - Remember when we sold Le Fondre for £1.6m because we had a tax bill to pay.
If we have to sell to balance the books and nobody else is offering anything for anyone then we might have to take it seriously, which is what they are hoping.

We may get circa £5m if we hold out, but anything higher is a pipe dream in the current climate

What has John Swift ever done/displayed to warrant a price tag of circa £5m? He plays for a mediocre, lower mid-table team in the Championship.

He’s had a decent stock for a few years and Isn’t he one of the best rated midfielders In the championship this season? Players like that normally go for like 10m+ these days so 5m for swift doesn’t sound unreasonable, especially with two years left on his contract.

We got roughly double that for Le Fondre. In retrospect that was a great bit of business.
