Hound Who’d have thought McCleary, Baldock and Obita would change the game


Yes who would have thought putting on a striker, a winger and another player who started out as a winger would give Reading more impetus going forward. Perhaps MB might learn that playing on the front foot and taking the game to the opposition might be a good option. I won’t hold my breath.


He’s done it nearly every game since the restart and it’s made no difference


Very few occasions with Baldock and another up top though

Infact I can only recall three of the eight games since lockdown he’s used a 4-4-2 with Baldock and another up top with him. Today, where it worked well, Derby, where it worked well and the first 25 against Brentford, which to be fair was a shambles but they’re a classy team

Although the chemistry between Meite and Puscas has improved from earlier on in the season, just don’t think they work well together leading the line. You can see Baldock’s experience and intelligence played a part as soon as he came on, with the pressing, the movement etc and we looked a better team for it
