Your realistic 5 or 6 signings

by Old Man Andrews » 27 Aug 2020 12:42

With the news the owners will authoirise a spending spree bringing in 5/6 players who would your realistic targets be? I am guessing there will be a couple of loans in there as well as perm deals/free deals.

My 6 would be:

1. Jed Wallace - Winger - Perm

2. Mike Van Der Hoon - CB- Free

3. Steven Defour - CM- Free

4. Adam Reach - Winger - Perm

5. Ben Pearson - CDM - Perm

6. Ben Osborn -LB - loan

Is he fcuk. Spent the last few seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin and Cardiff. Sees Paunovic as a father figure and would jump at the chance to play for him again. He nearly joined Chicago Fire in 2018 just to be with him.

Spent the last 2 years playing regularly football in the Bundesliga - over 50 appearances. Reading is a big step down, it would be a real coup.

I think you're underestimating the fact that he would die for our new manager and would follow him to the end of the earth.

yep, just need to persuade him that Reading is a better option than Milan and we're good to go

Said in a recent interview that he hates pasta, so can't see it being too difficult.

Anyway, talking of realistic signings from the Serbian Under 20 World Cup winning squad... Andrija Živković has just been released by Benfica, and is very keen to play in the Championship.

Milan is an incredibly boring city in our favour. Even Reading is more interesting

If we're looking at that U20s world cup squad, surely Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has to be first choice?

LB Pickering (Crewe) perm
RB Patterson (Cardiff) perm
CB Van Der Hoorn Free perm
CM Grujic (Chelsea) loan
LW Zivkovic Free
RW OJo (Liverpool) loan

That would give
GK Rafael, Southwood
LB Richards, Pickering
RB Patterson, Yiadom
CB Moore, Morrison, Mcintyre, Van Der Hoorn and Holmes
CM Rinhomota, Swift, Grujic, Laurent, Aruruna
ACM Ejaria, Olise
Wide player Meite, Zivkovic, OJo
CF Joao, Puscas, Baldock, McNulty.
Squad of 25.
Get rid of on loan, pay up or sell- Walker, Watson, East, Holsgrove, Aluko and Smith

If Ryan Sessegnon goes out on loan it will probably be to a top-flight team.

Not sure about that formation either - perhaps supposed to be a 3-5-1-1?
