Nameless Of course winning isn’t all that counts, although I’d rather win playing badly than lose playing well.
However life will be so much easier for the new guy having won these 2 games than if he’d lost them.
It’s a very acceptable start although we’ll need to iron out a few wrinkles. Adding a few players to the squad in the next couple of days should help....

I don't mind a good performance ending in defeat at all, obviously don't want lots of them. Not keen on lots of poor performances ending in victory either though... suggests that's going to crash sooner or later.

Clueless .

Not clueless, I understand his view but struggle to agree that I would ever be ‘happy’ with a loss. I could recognise a good attempt, but it would still be a loss.
The point about a series of wins is a totally different debate. On a one off basis I would take a win/ poor performance over a defeat every time.

Apparently Yids is out for a good while hence being linked with right backs.

Shame.

And no cup games left to try out Watson in his actual position.

If Gunter agreed to play for 25% of last seasons wage I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

He was tried in his position on loan for the past two seasons and performed terribly, he isn't very good.

Keep up.

The bedwetting of certain people on this sight is a joy to behold. Imagine what would happen when we actually lose a game ffs

No wonder you are the best poster on here. I am still disgusted by the way he was treated by the club and the fans

Interesting. If we had the option of bringing Gunter or Osho back who would we go for ?
The hugely experienced, reliable , specialist full back but probably expensive Gunter
Or the inexperienced, non specialist fullback, probably more dynamic but a bit of a gamble, much cheaper Osho

Choose Osho and a few games in we could find those handful of impressive games werea flash in the pan. Or we’d could find we have a gem.
We know exactly what we will get with Gunter.

I doubt we’ll go for either !

Paying him on a short term pay as you play deal at the same rate would be more sensible.
But depends if he has anyone else interested

A choice of thr two it would be Osho all day long. He could do us a job at CB or RB.

Heard a rumour he is going to be on Love Island which is why he hasn't signed for anyone yet.

Apparently we are in for Perry Ng from Crewe. That deal makes a lot more sense now

Gunter's too expensive and the past.

Osho, as you say, would be a bit of a gamble, but Araruna looks ok so I'm ok with a gamble

I think we'll go with A N Other and that's probably where my preference would lie though.

Gunter can cover Lb, which actually needs cover. Osho would be behind all 4 current CBS.
Love Island was an option last year for Osho, I guess he may decide to quit the game to become a reality TV star. No accounting for stupidity.

Old Man Andrews This is one of the worst first halves I've ever seen in terms of opinions in a match thread. You idiots being negative need to stop trying to appease Ian, he isn't someone you need to listen to. The fact is he is an utter disgrace and has been deeply offensive to the manager since he took over.

He isn't a supporter of the club

He didn't go to games prior to Covid

He wants the manager to fail

I agree also found it odd that the board was lambasting the players after 5 minutes. Football is a 95 minute game and strategy is for the game as a whole, it’s not about consistently dominating.

Would be nice if yourself and Ian had a ceasefire though.

Football is a 90 minute game...
Other than that you are right, especially the final comment....

So added time doesn't exist then?

Tbf, it made sense before as we were short on cover at full back, but yes now it is a must-do deal (or another specialist right back)

No. There is no ‘added time’. It’s 90 minutes. You add on minutes lost earlier in the game. When I reffed I always blew when my watch said 90 because I stopped the watch during play rather than tried to keep track of how long the game stopped for and then adding it on.

Didn’t watch the game today and I do understand the frustrations of those watching but sometimes you just have to let the game play out a little bit more. See it a lot with cricket as well (not on here really, but on Twitter), it England aren’t 30-0 off 4 overs it’s an unmitigated disaster.

Yeah, sure, I’d love us to have 5 shots on target by half time but sometimes you do have to give credit to the oppo and they obviously nullified what we were trying to do, but at 0-0 you’re always in the game and it only takes one shot to turn that around. In the end we got the win, so happy days. Olise scores his first senior goal, mega happy day’s. That’ll give him a huge boost of confidence to go with a couple of assists this season already.

Hopefully we can get a couple of new bodies in to boost the squad and go from strength to strength.
