70's style Lion Bars ... absolutely.
Modern Lion Bars ... nah.

Oh... I'm too young to know, how were they different in the 70s?

Nuts, raisins, generally chunkier.
Oh, and about twice the size ... or was it I was half the size :?

Ah, I missed out, although they are still pretty cool when I am naughty and have some sugar.

Yeah I'm pretty sure fun-sized chocolate bars of my day have been rebranded as full sized ones of today. You'd probably need to go King Sized (if they still do them) to get to the same size as the standards I was used to as a kid.

I think it was essentially like a Twix in that it came in 2 “fingers”. It was a combination of fudge and chocolate with a rum flavouring.

Wish you could still get a Drifter, seemed to quietly disappear about 10 years ago so it had a good run but all the same can’t help but feel there’s still a place for it.

Spangles were good too, seem to recall they did an orangeade flavour to pep up the boiled sweet with a bit off fizz.

Back to injuries - I see the training footage on the Reading FC Twitter feed showed Swift, and virtually everyone bar Araruna in training yesterday. We may have as close to a full strength squad available on Friday as we've had all season.

The Royals boss also confirmed positive news on the injury front concerning John Swift, Michael Morrison and Andy Yiadom.

“The list of injured players is slowly going down. For Swift, we are looking for him to be involved in the next couple of weeks but not for Barnsley.

“He (Swift) is in the final stages of recovery but it will be too soon for this Friday, but the next couple of weeks he will be an option.”

Morrison and Yiadom are back in training and we are assessing their situations daily and we will make a last minute decision for Friday.”

seems reasonable - saw the video on the twitter feed and swift is just wandering around rather than training. another week or so is still ahead of when we were expecting
