Nameless Another cord we hold (I think) is that of worst record in the FA cup.
We have lost more FA cup games than any other team apparantly...

Most FA Cup goals conceded: 539: Aston Villa
Highest FA Cup goal difference: +305: Aston Villa
Most FA Cup games played: 455: Arsenal
Most FA Cup games won: 251: Manchester United
Most FA Cup games lost: 130: Notts County <<<<<<<<<<<<<,
Most FA Cup games drawn: 103: Arsenal

But Ian will know different

Of current league clubs then.

Not sure when Notts County first entered the FACup, I presume it was when it first started, but since then they’ve won it once in 1894 and have withdrawn themselves from this seasons competition.

Reading I don’t think entered until 1877 but have been in it ever since.

Forgot that one, kept thinking of Arbroath 36-0 Bon Accord and ruled it out as it was the Scottish Cup

Didn't we also hold the record for the longest unbeaten at home record?
What about the record number of goals scored by a mid-fielder in one season?
or the record number of goals scored by sub in one Premier League season?

I am not sure about this one though. Have we finished top of more DIFFERENT Divisions than any other team? Championship, Third Division, Fourth Division, Third South etc.
Who says Reading have no history with that number of records held/have held.
Can anyone think of any others?

Believe Reading held the unbeaten at home record for a while from the mid 1930s, think Millwall took over in the mid 60s? Then Liverpool in the late 70s, Chelsea in the 00s? And Liverpool again currently?

Reading’s winning of divisions is a record they appear to be sharing with Grimsby(!) excluding Div 1/PL Reading have won every football league division they have played in; Division 2/Championship, Division 3/League 1, Division 4/League 2 and Division 3 South.

Grimsby have done exactly the same but with Division 3 North instead of Division 3 South. Grimsby are also one of those handful of clubs that would have been eligible to play in both Division 3 South and Division 3 North but the highest they managed in D3S was only 13th.

Reading just need to win the PL/Division 1 then

Of course you might be a able to find clubs that have won the same division at various times under different names eg Division 3/League 1/Division 2 etc. but personally think that’s just going too far.

Mr Angry Something else worth noting; from Sky Sports last night, it is clear that their perceived "wisdom" is that Watford, Bournemouth and Brentford are going to be the teams battling it out for Automatic promotion.

Lazy journalism for sure, (and of course, they seem to have forgotten that we have already beaten Watford, and beaten Cardiff away whilst Bournemouth only drew with them last night...) but the longer we are not regarded, and the longer we stay under the radar, the better.

I find it oddly satisfying that we appear to be such an 'unfashionable' prospect to the media. Makes it all the more pleasurable when the team are playing so well.

So "unfashionable" that Sky have chosen 2 of our upcoming games for live transmission.
After tonight the fixation with Derby will come to an end.

Nah, it's because we're playing the footballing giants that are Blackburn and Coventry......

I was going to suggest most goals scored by a defender in a season but I see he blasted in 16 for Carlisle the season before we signed him.

Were the league games away at Pompey and at Spurs?
At least we scored a lot of goals away from home in those games as we did in that game at Derby on the day we got relegated on goal difference.
Travelling away with Reading we have had our moments.

Snowflake Royal You're still wrong, because we've obtained more than two already.

We had the longest time without conceding until Van der Sarr took it off us, plus 13 wins, which makes three before breaking the points record again.

So you’re saying all those years we have been singing “We’ve got THE record, 106”

We were wrong?

Try looking up the difference between “a” and “the”

We didn’t concede a goal for a long time and we won 13 games on the trot and we got 106 points

Is a shit chant

I may be mistaken but don't we also have the most championship hattricks scored? We have 11 since the league was formed and I think next is Norwich with 10?

Get out. Championship name change specific records?

Football didn't start with the PL and it certainly didn't start with a tier two rebrand.
