windermereROYAL Can we ask sky to stick their live coverage up their arses? 3 more games to come.

A big +1

And I thought for a fleeting moment we might actually be on the verge of breaking the Sky live curse :(

^^ that's what hurts the most

Franconian Royal Right, let me start by saying first half we looked really good. The passing was crisp, defence was tight, goals were well deserved.
We should have had a second penalty. Aluko (?) was fouled. I feel that the ref thought he made a bad decision for the first penalty and wanted to even things up.
Brooks should've been sent off second half for kicking the ball away twice. Ref was atrocious.
I think Pauno thought we would hold out for a while after their first goal. Olise was good, but Meite didn't touch the ball, Moore looked poor as well. Oh and let me say that Solanke handballed for their 4th goal. You can see how his hand moved the ball. And Begovic cheated as well.

Agree about the ref. Very poor. The Aluko incident wasn’t a pen as he was fouled outside the box but maybe a red card.

I thought it looked in, but I'll take your word for it. Looking at our refereeing in this country, it is no wonder that only 1, yes 1, ref has been chosen to go to the Euros next year. That is compared to Germany and France, who will take 2 each. Something needs to change.

Still think we sit back far too much and leave too much space for the opposition to play in. Moore, Richards and Esteves are all quick so it’s not as though we have to sit back because we’re slow, but every one of the last four defeats is us sitting back far too much.

Simmops Pauno OUT!!!!

This.

Need experience at this level.

Unfortunately we've now missed the Tony Pulis train.

I wish the manager would stop congratulating the opponents and be more tough on the players. Sounds like a right soft touch.

I don’t want to hear about how well we played. We have conceded 15 in 5 and some of those have been embarrassing. We look a really soft touch again.

Not great.
We have to go back to basics.

15 goals conceded in the past 5 games. Something is amiss. Has the managers lack of experience at this level been exposed?

In each of the last 4 defeats he's congratulated the opposition for their win.

Sportsmanship yes but maybe we lost those 4 games because we've played shit? Bournemouth were better than us 2nd half, but the other 3.5 games we were the better side in my opinion.

Disagree completely. We gave Bournemouth almost nothing first half sitting back and defending deep in numbers. That's basically how our good run happened.

We opened up against Blackburn and since then it's been goals galore. Loads of the recent goals have been us losing the ball and getting hit on the break.

either that or he has decided to change the style to what it was in the spree when we were winning games.

Quite tough for a coach to stop the rot when just two minutes between goals. Don’t think we can criticise Paunovic today.

Crap set pieces, some switching off at the back at key moments, yes, but can’t criticise the manager

The changes should have been immediate. I was posting on here saying make the changes. You could see we desperately needed to freshen up.
Really poor second half with Rafael having another mare. Beaten at his near post for their second and as for the fourth....
We seemed to allow them so much space inside our half.
Mepham made a difference for them when he came on. Joao did nothing once he was on.

I think I thought about the change before the first, and started typing about it to post before the second.

We started the second half so passively. We basically said, 'I know we just sucker punched you at the end of the half to make it safe, but here, have a way back...'

You guys may have a fair point about noticing the right hand side weakness earlier, but it’s rare for a manager to make a double change at the flick of the switch - the players don’t typically sit here ready to come on immediately. So if he wasn’t thinking about the switch before the first goal it was too late to prevent the second.

Of course I am gutted but that was a great match to watch. Sometimes you just have to accept you are beaten by the better side and Bournemouth were fantastic second half. Superb attacking play by both sides.

Realistically we are not going up this season and most likely will end mid table. My main worry is whether the Bowen effect is now wearing off and whether Pauno will have the ability to turn the current situation round. He has no doubt made us more exciting going forwards but the defensive steel that Bowen brought back has now gone and we look very shaky at the back.

Didn't see the two televised games before the break so can't pass judgement there. Agree that there is no need to congratulate the other team, either. I do really. hope that he wakes up, because at this rate Pauno will be gone very soon. I don't think the owners will be liking this at all.
