NewCorkSeth He does try. Just 3 seconds too late.

Oh is that what he was doing? I thought he was just trying out a new useless skill.

It was pretty fun when he tried a few step overs on a stationary ball and the defender just poked it away like he wasn't there.

All the greats have their own signature move, Cruyff turn, Ronaldo Chop, Ejaria step-over-to-lose-possession.

We’re being well managed by Boro.

Snowflake Royal That's another chance. Wrong choice imo.

Great chance - or was it? :)
Wrong foot

That shot was never going near the goal, but a different decision, another touch, a pass, going left foot, may have led to something better.

Greatwesternline Even if they had got the shots on target they would have had to beat the keeper. They were reasonable chances but think expecting a goal from them seems optimistic.
I never said they should all have been scored. I said they were good chances.

Rino should really have hit the target. McIntyre too. If either do hit the target there's a good chance they beat the keeper or go loose to be pounced on. Ejaria's was a better struck effort IMO and less likely as a goal.

Those, the Joao header, Yiadom just now. We've created enough to score, but our efforts on the goal simply haven't been good enough.

Which was my initial point - they were all good chances, as was the one for Yiadom

And this isn't new
The quality of shooting isn't good enough
Unless Joao scores no one else can

NewCorkSeth Have you ever seen him win a header? I haven't.

Doesn't fancy them and when he tries, can't time his jump.

It's comical timing. Like watching a toddler learn to walk.

But expecting him to win a header is like expecting Rafael to save a long shot. Or Baldock to score a goal. Or Laurent to not be so handsome. It just can't be done.

He doesn't have to win it, just make it harder for the defender.

Jesus, just not at the races. This is like Bristol City in the week, except we are playing like Bristol City this time.

That's how xG works. You attribute a chance of scoring to each opportunity and over the course of a match they build up to usually 1 - 2 goals. Which is more or less what you are doing as well.

I think the quality of our chances is amounting to about 1 goal. But We need more!

2-0 down at home with 20 minutes to go and the only subs you’ve made have been two defenders at half time.

At what time do we try to change it up? Come on ffs.

My point was I think that was another great chance
It certainly looked like one to me but who knows any more?!

Boro defending well. This is a hard watch and a reality checking. Since the great start to the season we have won eight and heading for our tenth defeat.

Have they? They’ve been organised defensively but we’ve made it easy for them.
