Yiadom
Moore
Morrison
McIntyre

Semedo
Laurent
Olise
Aluko
Ejaria

Puscas

Why would you play Puscas up front on his own when it`s widely recognised he`s not so good at that?

Was vastly improved earlier in the season before his injury.

Also scored a few goals that way last season.

Can't just change your whole shape to fit one player.

That is something that the twitter fans don't seem to understand at all. Everytime there is a blip it is straight to "pets play 3 at the back" or "we need to play a front 2".

That involves me thinking Aluko is better on the right btw

I guess I see where you’re coming from though, but wasn’t there a general consensus on here that Esteves wasn’t a RB and should be deployed further forward because he was making too many mistakes? He did OK against Bristol there

Either way, I’m easy but Aluko is a bit of a liability defensively

That was far from a consensus

OK - will rephrase. Most people came to the conclusion that Esteves wasn’t ready/good enough as a RB as he had too many deficiencies there and we also have Yiadom, Araruna and Holmes that play there

And so given that IMO our only natural wide player on the right is injured, one logical solution may be to push Esteves up, where he’s less likely to make mistakes and hence hopefully able to build his confidence up

IMO it’s a different situation with Semedo as CDM is supposed to be his natural position

Either way, the initial point was that given Aluko has played a grand total of about 20 minutes in the last 5/6 games (even with Meite and Swift out) and Esteves has been preferred ahead of him, it’s more than likely he’ll get the nod if Rino is out

It was suggested at the start (before he played there) that he could do a job on the wing (including by myself - however that tells you as much as you need about the validity of the statement  )

But it was made very apparent that he doesn’t offer anything substantial going forward at all. Don’t think we can highlight the Bristol city game where he “did well” as Ian Harte would have done decently on the wing against that lot. Plus I actually thought he put a couple of decent crosses in but gave the ball away too cheaply.

Of course I see your point with Semedo, I just feel his positioning leaves a lot to be desired and there are far too many gaps defensively in midfield. He hasn’t played there much this season so maybe he needs a bit of a run to get used to it but he just doesn’t inspire me with any kind of confidence. I think you’re 100% right though mate Pauno will deffo start him there and not McIntyre if Rino is out, I was just saying I’d prefer to see one of our own players who is better defensively there.
