I am about 40 miles east of Los Angeles, California. I figured it was a time zone thing.

If LA is nine hours difference? If so that would mean you posted at 00:19 UK time, which seems to fit what I see here.

I have a midnight deadline to help ME.

So people post previous day I can get the bulk of the spreadsheet sorted.


Same for later timings.

Means I have more time to get stuff entered and I "pay" for the help

Without deadlines I would probably get 20 entries about ten minutes before team announced.

Once we have deadlines, they need to be rigid. If I let someone off with Deadline plus 5 minutes, why not 6, or 10, 0r 30?

It's very clear. Just get the entry in the previous day (ideally) and for the help you get 8 extra points.


It bewilders me why some (one) still steadfastly refuse to post the same format as the rest of the nobbers, throwing away a guaranteed 5 points and also not eligible for points like first-goal.

Also amazes me how often people post scores which MEAN a team draws from behind or wins from behind, but doesn't bother to state it.

It's a fair amount of work collating the scores but much better now accuracy and promptness is rewarded (or messiness and lateness penalised...)

As for midnight then 9AM. This is so people who miss midnight cut-off can still be rewarded for early-ish entries.

Give an inch, they take a mile. A deadline should be absolute, otherwise no point.

Thanks for the reply, makes sense - I hadn't really thought it through from your viewpoint. It is quite a manual process so I can understand how early templated entries are helpful.
