I can't see Pauno choosing to lose this one by fielding a deliberately arse side

I wonder if this is now the time to ditch using two CDM s; Rino and Laurent at least as starters.I just get the impression they are being by passed during games;particularly Rino.

I've honestly been thinking the same, drop one of them for Swift.

I think it’s a bit early for Swift to start. He looked off the pace on Friday night.

Swift is a real dilemma.

I don't want to see him break down again because he's asked to do too much too soon. However, Olise will get fouled, particularly early in the game and Swift being on the pitch to convert a freekick could make a massive difference to the way the game pans out and the final result.

Agreed. I can only see a win. Though they've been in form recently, haven't they?

This really is "lose and we're done for."

I would say their recent form is indifferent and 3 of their last 4 wins came against teams reduced to 10 men. That said they were impressive against Watford, restricted them to 5 shots, none on target and Watford's red card came in the 88th minute so barely had an impact on the game.

if we draw and Barnsley lose it'd keep things interesting. But yeah a loss and we may as well give up

Difficult to gauge playing teams in Luton’s position, shackles are off, little pressure, can go either way really. Irrespective of Barnsley’s result IMO a draw won’t be enough though, need to get some positive momentum going again

Would probably stick with the same team bar Puscas in for Joao. Opportunity to stick with the usual formation or even go with the diamond if he doesn’t fancy Puscas up top by himself (next to Meite). Hope the subs have convinced him they may be worth more of a go if it isn’t working as they’ve made an impact in both the last two games

Pretty confident about this one.

I'm sure you know this stuff better than me...but...

We haven't lost in the league to Luton since 2006.

In fact our record from the 90s onwards, 15 games, is:

W9 D3 L3

In that case, I will bow to the better knowledge by yourself and Snowflake. And as a result of your vast experience of this
fixture, I will be loading on Reading big time to win this. I thank you in advance for this wedge of cash hitting my bookies account
tomorrow evening.

Thinking ahead to Swansea if they lose tonight their automatic play off chances are done. Would help our cause.

They did. Luton are on the beach now. They had their cup final on Saturday, we need to take this game to them.

With Swansea's defeat we could be 3 pts behind them Sunday afternoon if we win tomorrow.

...which pretty much guarantees they'll use the first half as passing practice between the defenders and only start playing some time in the second half when they're 1 or 2-0 down, going go gung ho with subs and an incredibly daring 4-4-2 at 89mins.

Can't wait.

I don't really think games years and years ago mean much.

We've beaten them 3 on the trot in the league since they returned from a long time below us. And at least a couple of those were very comfortable.

We have a strong record against them in terms of anything relevant and recent.
