Sutekh There never was any chance of a win as Luton begins with “L” and Reading have now only won 4 from the last 43 midweek away trips since 2014 and all 4 wins were at teams beginning with “B”. Least we’ll all know when the fixture list for next season appears which midweek games (if any) will be worth watching.

You know that could be true tbf.

Officially it's not over but we're having to win minimum 2 of 3 out of Swansea, Norwich and Huddersfield when we don't look like doing much at all lately.

Meanwhile Barnsley need to lose 2 of 3 minimum, ideally all 3, again so unlikely.

Bloody awful.

We don't deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs.

Pathetic. We've hardly any a single good performance in about 3 months now. Honestly I can't see Paunovic being here by Christmas at this rate if we don't turn this around

Season done. Form off a cliff.

If Brentford beat Bournemouth and Barnsley beat Rotherham we'll be 8 pts shy.

Start planning for next year now.

We seriously need a win or two in these last 3 else the momentum is shocking for next year.

Wasn’t a bad game second half - our final ball not good enough

Some of the rest of the display was alright tbh. Laurent and Rino did well, defence solid enough. Luton not a bad side

Again thought the subs made us look better. Should have thrown Swift, Aluko and Baldock on at 60 mins - Olise, Ejaria and Meite all had poor games

Nevermind - onto next season now, this ones done

Barnsley had 21 shots and 7 on target.

Compare to our “12 and 1”.

None of which were even remotely testing.

Didn’t make much difference at the start of this season the loss of momentum tbh. Don’t think it matters either way really

Well if it wasn't over before it pretty much is now.
God why can't we have decent options on the bench.
Oh well next season roll on. Hopefully bring some players in in place of some of the crap that's been of stupid contracts.
I'm sure Swift's injury hurt us more than we think.....even when he is not match fit he looks class.

Barnsley now need 4 points from 3 games starting at home to Rotherham on Sunday, just looked at their stats tonight, 21 shots 7 on target. a must win game, that's how you do it.

It's done.

A win tonight would have left it ajar especially with Swansea next but we're trying to pick the lock now.

To only take 2pts from games against teams who are done is more than a little disappointing.

That’s shameful, one shot on target which was Swift’s free kick. Yiadom, Olise and Ejaria my Donkeys of the Week but could be anyone from 9. Rhino and Holmes played well, rest shite.

Ismael (and Dike) have transformed Barnsley beyond all recognition. Whatever we had, they've got it now and fair play to them. This team has regressed right back to where it was; toothless, lazy, disjointed and, most worryingly, confused. We're completely devoid of any kind of pace and I'm sort of amazed it's taken it this long to start so obviously coming home to roost. Add to that we've got a squad that's shallower than a paddling pool and our "impact subs" are two mercs on massive salaries who know they're off in a couple of games.

We need a massive clear out this summer but (i) we can't afford one and (ii) we're not allowed to do one anyway according to the EFL.

Wonder if Rossi might have done for us what Dike's done at Oakwell...

I also would say for Paunovic's future. If we win 1 of our last 11 games then it wouldn't surprise me if there's a managerial change. Not that it's just the managers fault because the players have been pathetic in the last 3 month's.

Often been shown to be a correlation between how you finish and how you start.

Teams who finish 7th tend to have some disappointment to handle and often miss out due to losing form late.

In the last decade, teams in 7th have not come higher than 13th the next year. If we can, we need to finish on the up as this may counteract this.

We are now 1 win in 8, if that goes to 1 in 11 then confidence for next year disappears.

I’m just sick of this tip tap sideways football, it’s ok when your Man City and you have about £1 billion worth of players. But our players are incapable or do not have the ability to play this way. There was a distinct lack of urgency apart from the last few minutes, and that was the most worrying aspect.

Brain Traysers
Hound Been very impressed again with Holmes tonight - becoming an excellent CB

He's so much better on the ball than we have had in that position in recent years. Looks much better at CB where he can be a progressive + ball playing CB than at RB where it makes him a solid RB

Yes, he is impressive at centre half. We could have ruined him playing him at rifht back like we have been doing. The injuries to Morrison and McIntyre have thrown him in and he’s done really well. We must start him there next season.
