It would seem to be a waste of time to start Baldock and Alukho;as they will both be gone in the Summer;however Puskas and Ejaria were just so bad last night.

I guess how we approach this game depends on how Barnsley do on Saturday.

If there is still a mathematical chance of play-offs we need to go with the best side available (if need be including Baldock, Aluko, loan players).

If we're definitely finishing outside the top 6 then we can forget about the players who won't be here next season and try out those who will (except perhaps Swift who should be wrapped in cotton wool).

windermereROYAL Just checked our record on sky this season.

HOME, W5 D1 L3

AWAY. W0 D3 L4.

OVERALL W5 D4 L7

5 wins in 16 so far, nothing to be proud of, don`t know what the attraction was.

Reading will have been on the telly 17 times by the end of this season. 8 times away (Coventry, Preston, Watford, Barnsley, Swansea, Bournemouth, Sheff Wed and Birmingham) and 9 times at home (Stoke, Bristol City, Bournemouth, Norwich, Blackburn, Nottm Forest, Coventry, Cardiff and Swansea).

The record at home is 5 wins and 1 draw from 8 games and away it’s just 4 draws from 8 games. That’s 20 points out of a possible 48.

And, on Sunday, Reading will be looking for their 7th win from what will be their 28th live Sky TV game since August 2017.

alfie9 5-0 Swansea, one last embarrassment in front of the fans before we sell the team

Dont be so ridiculous.

An excellent season whimpering into a decent season. You forgotten the last few years?

You can say that twice!

My guess for this weekend is Barnsley lose to Rotherham, we then draw 0-0 with Swansea with 1, maybe 2 shots on target.

Following the big 6 pulling out of the ESL, perhaps we should hope for the organisers to now look to the top 6 in the Championship to take their place.....

So this season we are currently averaging 1.25pts on telly and 1.77pts when not TV. So if we hadn't have been shown at all we would now be 8 points better off and if every game had been live we'd be on 54pts.

Swansea are terrible. If they do manage to beat us, it'll be by the odd goal. Probably a penalty.

I guarantee Sky want us to get the gap down to 3 or less for the final game. At this rate they'll only have the relegation scrap to cover.

No, that’s more or less decided as well with Rotherham being generally quite poor, unlike a couple of seasons ago when they were trying to chase Reading down. Their next fixture is a trip to Brentford.

Swansea will come for the draw and counter attack. Suspect the final stats are going to show us having 95% possession with the majority in our own half with zero shots on target. Going to be a dull game.

Yep Swansea will be very happy with the draw. They are very defensive under Cooper anyway.
Giving it a miss.

IF (big IF I know) Swansea lose to us tomorrow, say 2-0

It will be

76 Swansea GD 16
71 Reading GD 13

Reading would have to beat Norwich Away and then beat Huddersfield to finish on 77, highly unlikely, BUT Swansea's last game is at Watford where they could easily lose.

If Reading go to Norwich with a win under their belt and sneak 0-1 and Swans fail to beat Derby (I presume a draw)

77 Swansea GD 16
74 Reading GD 14

Reading would only need to win the game v Huddersfield by any score (presuming a Watford win over Swansea) to snatch 6th place.

1-0 Watford v Swansea
1-0 Reading v Huddersfield

77 Reading GD 15
77 Swansea GD 15

Identical GD but Reading go thru on more-goals-scored

Of course, anything but a win for Reading tomorrow and it's Fat Lady

Then we have to win away to Norwich and Derby have to take at least a point at Swansea

Then we have to not slip up v Huddersfield and hope Watford win.

OF COURSE this is unlikely, especially the Norwich game

But we are good enough to beat a fairly average Swansea side
and we are good enough to beat Huddersfield.

It's the middle game, where we have to have our biggest win of the season (Carrow Road)
and hope Derby show some fight. After all Swansea couldn't beat Wycombe just a week ago

Recall that our performance at Wycombe left a lot to be desired. A far too often occurrence this season.

We have to win all our remaining games while Barnsley must lose their remaining two. Obviously I can see them losing to Norwich but the same can be said about us as we also have Norwich, away to Preston will also be a tough game but so will Swansea today for us. Then the Huddersfield game we really should be winning, especially if they have secured safety by then, which looks likely.

Technically we could still overtake Swansea but I really can't see them losing to Derby.
