Stranded
Rax
John Smith I’ll maybe let you off slightly on Asaba. Not on Rafael though: dogshit

Blimey, you clearly never saw Mark Reilly "play" for us then - or Sean Evers for that matter!

Asaba was frustrating, bit like Aluko fee wise - he was, to use today's terms, a great League One player but rubbish in the Championship!

Shipped off to Gillingham after a season IIRC......

Always thought flogging Asaba when we did was premature. He scored 8 in 33 in a relegated side. Remember him ripping eventual champions Sunderland to shreds in a 4-0 win.

Just felt like we cut our losses as Gillingham offered us 600k when he may well have done really well for us back in L1.

He finished that following year as top scorer for play off finalists as we finished a distant 11th.

Yep, travesty moving him on and replacing him with Fleck, Scott and Brayson.

Presume it's Yiadom with Esteves RB?

Very odd 11. Semedo, maybe?

Seems like VP wants to make life as difficult as possible for Southwood with that selection.

Christ knows how that team is going to line up and, as everyone has said, playing the loanees is utterly pointless.

This could be messy.

I can't get over how weird this 11 looks.

5 Midfielders? Swift, Olise, Semedo, Rhino, Laurent

Maybe one of this is CB?

Must be a deliberate experiment as Pauno has two CBs on the bench

and where is Ejaria?

That’s not the side currently showing on the os is it? Three full backs and one centre back. Surely not right

Maybe (MAY-be) he is thinking of Semedo and Esteves next year if they
have been re-offered as wage-cheap loanees, shifting out Moore, Cabral, Olise...

Yeah a bit pointless playing them. No Puscas in the squad at all. Moore on the bench when only one centre back starts. A bit odd.

I suppose Semedo may be playing centre back with Esteves playing further up the pitch. Would much prefer players playing in their preferred positions

Still struggling with it

1 goalkeeper
2 right backs
1 central defender
1 left back
3 central "defensive" midfielders
2 attacking midfielders
& Yakou Meite

and at least 5 who won't be at the club next season either starting or on the bench.

Ejaria and Puscas injured perhaps?

It makes no sense at all especially with the club captain who happens to be a senior centre back on the bench. Perhaps Pauno isn’t too worried about the outcome and may know more about his future than is in the public domain.
