Franconian Royal That's a players problem, not management.

Tbh I didn't think we did enough for 2-1, but it looks like the mentality of the team is poor. Looks like Richards is not interested anymore. I wish him luck, because he's been a really good player. Please, please, please keep Morro, Olise and Swift.
Just watching Southwood, he could be good, but he's not ready yet.
Porno needs to stay. If we keep on chopping and changing, then we will not get anywhere.

Yes, disappointing league debut for young, in goalkeeping terms, Southwood.

IMO has to carry some responsibility for both goals.

For the freekick he inexplicably takes a step to his right as the player is about to strike the ball and has then left himself too much to do to get across and cover the side of the goal that he was meant to be covering.

For the second he is pointing with to his defenders with his right arm to his defenders just before the shot is taken. Consequently he is off balance and slow into his set position, so that the ball then goes under/through him as he dives.

He also had two very narrow escapes. First when he took a touch on a back pass when there was no time to do so and the closing forward very nearly succeeded in blocking his clearance and sending it into the goal. Then he played a suicide pass to Semedo (I think) on the central edge of his area, who was dispossessed - somehow we managed to prevent them scoring. According to Dellor and Gooding the latter had VP screaming at him not to do things like that.

It's a real quandary. He doubtless has the makings of a good keeper but clearly needs more development and experience. How does he get the latter if he doesn't play for our first team? If we send him out on loan, then we need another keeper as backup for Rafael,

Westwood52 One thing from yesterday is Mick’s commentary.Until this season,I have always thought Mick did a really good job;especially compared to Tim Dellor. But Mick has definitely struggled this season.Mind you, Blakey apart ,his substitutes have been a bit pedantic.

Love Mick, but it's about 20 years since he was really involved in the professional game.

His relevance and familiarity with the game and club are starting to drift.

I'm not sure you understand the difference between a fan and player manager, or fan and radio co commentator.

From Tim Dellor s comments on Saturday,it seems a 100% certain that Mick will be there next season.Given Mick’s new business,it seems strange that he can afford to take so many Saturdays off,and continue to summarise Reading matches.I would emphasise however that Mick is still far more easy to listen to than Tim Dellor.I never quite realised how bad he was until I applied his commentary to the I Follow games.I for one have zero respect for the BBC in recent years and wonder how much longer they can continue with their current ethos. There are still some presenters I respect and like;Sally Taylor,Rita Chacha ,George Aleghia. But there are so many others I cannot stand, for a variety of reasons and switch channels as soon as they come on.As regards Tim and Radio Berkshire, there is no other real option.
Does anybody know if Sally Taylor is ok ?As one of us,and a Reading fan;if she reads this forum,I wish her all the best and a speedy return to South Today;you have been missed.

It's staggering how often he fails to accurately describe what's happening. Seemingly Olise's penalty was right into the top corner. Another of his shots was apparently knee height, although it clearly skidded all along the ground. And don't even mention his incredible ability to wrongly identify our players. I'd be seriously worried about any identity parade that he was asked to work through!

As my daughter said: 'think of all those away games we listened to in the past when things were probably completely different to what we were hearing'!

He doesn't even have the guts to admit when he's called it wrong and noticed.

Against Hudd he called out Olise breaking into the box and taking someone on, when it was Richards, then rather than confess he just carried on commentating like Olise had passed Richards the ball for the rest of the move.

And we're stuck with him because he isn't getting promoted or anything better because he's so shit.

morganb If Rafael is dropped, and both Moore and Morrison are injured, who'll be captain for the day tomorrow - Yiadom? Swift?

Answer was Laurent and apparently Moore was instrumental in this decision:

This season i have listened to a fair bit of commentary from the other team.....you would be amazed how lucky we are.
Think it was the Rotherham game where i am sure they talked for about 10 minutes straight about ex rotherham players from about 30 years ago instead of the game. It sounded like a Harry Enfield sketch.
