Certainly not a management issue there. Players let him down.

No draw from the first 19 home games then draw the last 4.

That's a players problem, not management.

Tbh I didn't think we did enough for 2-1, but it looks like the mentality of the team is poor. Looks like Richards is not interested anymore. I wish him luck, because he's been a really good player. Please, please, please keep Morro, Olise and Swift.
Just watching Southwood, he could be good, but he's not ready yet.
Porno needs to stay. If we keep on chopping and changing, then we will not get anywhere.

Snowflake Royal Dreadful goal and that's Southwood's chance for no 1 gone. Defending appalling to allow him a 1v1 but Southwood can't be nutsed there.

We just stopped playing.

Typical overeaction. Young player makes one error and he is written off.

Pauno took off both Olise and Swift so where was the creativity in the latter stages?

7 draws in the last 11, disappointing ending but an improvement whichever way you look at it.

VP post match interview, positive vibes.

“I have really enjoyed it,” said Paunović as he reflected on his first season as Reading boss.

“It’s been intense and hard but I didn’t expect any less. I have worked to my full capacity and have learned so much.
“I can’t wait for next season to start. I’m so enthusiastic about the future and apply everything I’ve learned this year.
“I enjoy it here with the team and the people I have worked. I understand that’s also something I don’t control so I always give my best.
“I expect to be here next season. I work as if I will be here. I understand how everything works and I always give my best. I treat this club as my club.

“We have to build on this going into the club’s anniversary. We have finished one season and we have to make the next one memorable.”
The Royals were prevented from ending the final day of the Championship season with victory as Huddersfield Town snatched a stoppage time equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
“We didn’t finish in the best possible way. I wouldn’t say it’s a success but I would characterise it as a huge improvement.
“It’s hard for us for the whole season other than the last few games in the play-offs to not see it as a disappointment.
“The team have worked hard and given their best. I’m happy for the first 60 minutes of the game where we played some very nice football. There were good partnerships all over the field.
“It was not what we wanted. It was disappointing to concede in the last seconds of the game. It’s a reflection of how we felt when we lost the opportunity for play-offs.
“This point helped us achieve 70 points so that’s something. On the other side, I’m proud of the team and everyone’s effort throughout the whole season.
“The injuries are what went wrong. They were the only consistent thing this season. They kept coming and we have to look at how to minimise them in the future.”

Olise had an issue. Swift is still coming back to fitness.

Real issue is lack of natural width in the team. Meite would feed off decent crosses. Too many of the squad naturally want to play in the centre rather than out wide.

Yep I agree with that. Play Yaks as a centre forward. He is good in the air but we have no one to put in decent crosses from out wide.

We didn't need creativity. We were 2-1 up with 30 seconds to go and the defence switched off and let someone through 1v1 and the keeper got nutmegged.

We'd just been killing time in their corner a minute earlier.

None of whom did especially badly. Certainly no worse than previously. And who might have been trying to earn a perm move.

Am I missing something? Is Rafael moving on? Some many people.have said similar things.

ITK Eddie suggested that he might be leaving this Summer and he's usually quite reliable.

One thing from yesterday is Mick’s commentary.Until this season,I have always thought Mick did a really good job;especially compared to Tim Dellor. But Mick has definitely struggled this season.Mind you, Blakey apart ,his substitutes have been a bit pedantic.

Love Mick, but it's about 20 years since he was really involved in the professional game.

His relevance and familiarity with the game and club are starting to drift.
