genome Nice of the commentators to mention 1995

And now Prutton is getting in on the act. Bad enough the Swansea Final is mentioned all afternoon without them adding 95 in as well.

Will be really happy for Brentford if they go up. Not sure if they have been in the top league before but they do deserve it after being close previously.

They have actually been in the top division more than us but not since 1947

Pretty lame effort from Swansea to be honest. Very comfortable for Brentford so far

Most definitely deserved for Brentford. 3 good teams going; clubs at the bottom of the PL will need to step up to survive (most notably Southampton)

Fairplay to them. They’ll be mocked as ‘tin pot’ with their new ground. But they have enviable structure and shown impressive consistency to get promotion. They’ve knocked on the door for the past few years and now they’ve done the job.

Gives me confidence for us - there’s no reason why we can’t go one further next year. Really hope Pauno can have the same impact on this group as when he first arrived.

Congrats to Brentford, a bit disappointed we'll miss an away day to their new ground but I think they deserve it.

Hope to see lots of crying Swans fans heading home defeated.

The absolute shit Swansea turned up. They were awful. Deserved nothing.....and that really was a brainless red as well.....slipping or not.....utterly reckless. I find it incredible how brainless footballers are sometimes.....well most of the time.

They should have been down to 10 in the first few minutes as well. Grimes tackle was worse because it had no mitigating slip (or not)

Yep they stunk the place out. As poor a final opponent as I can remember

Were as bad as each as each other. If either side had been competent on the day they would have won comfortably.

Yesterday was the most one sided Championship final in years. Probably since Watford stuffed Leeds in 2006.

My bad - read that as ‘poor final’

I remember us going three nil down to Swansea in 2011 (?) pretty quickly. 20 minutes iirc.

Deflation.

We pulled it back to 3-2, Karacan hit the post and the rest is history.

(we lost 4-2)

Having referenced our final losses to Bolton and Swansea yesterday Don Goodman brings up the Walsall Final as well.
