Mid Sussex Royal
NathStPaul Red card for Palace. Patrick Viera influencing his players early.

That's a rarity in a friendly

Very strange. Would normally just expect the ref to tell the bench to substitute him.

Kadeem Harris does seem to flatter to deceive a bit. As Ian has mentioned his stats are not great. Needs must though and given what our restrictions are we could do a lot worse.

1-3 defeat against 10 man Palace. Not good but not worth getting excited about. Sure both coaches would have preferred the game to have been 11 v 11.

Aye. Bedwetting all over the shot but pre-season has been ok. P5 W2 D1 L2 and we will have learnt from the defeats to PL sides.

Concern is thst the team mostly picks itself at the mo with very little pressure on any first teamer not performing. 3 or 4 signings, mainly loans will change that.

Harris would be a good start.

The concern is that we haven't looked convincing and we are an injury or two away from being totally fooked.

Overall a decent performance. Even with the loss it was worth my fiver. I've never heard oppo commentators so politely biased as the Palace ones.

I didn’t think we did to badly this afternoon. Palarse scored with their only efforts, two of which were a penalty and the other a free kick. The other was poor defensively by us.
As long as we stay injury free with our main players, swift, Ejaria, Morrison and Lucas . We will be mid table.

Palarse will struggle this season if today was anything to go by.
If we manage to stay up I expect we will be playing them again next season.
Good run out at the end of the day and the result did not reflect the game

Low says we were completely outclassed, but he often says that when we lose

Yes he just bases it on the scoreline - if we win 3:0 with three lucky goals, then it's a commanding performance ... etc.

Most were a 6. Still have problems in the final third. Red card was soft. Pen was soft.

NathStPaul What were you hoping for? Not sure what the issue is?

Curved seats and no aisles perhaps!

I tend to think there are three important things about a pre-season and results aren't in them.

Fitness
Strikers getting their eye in with a few goals to find that natural finishing rhythm, and
The defensive unit not conceding too many goals and working out their organisational kinks.

Somewhere between 1 and 2 out of 3 there probably, so ok as preseason goes.
