Hound So what do we reckon - Joao and McIntyre mid Jan, Meite as early as early Feb?

god knows whats going on with Rino, thats poor stuff. Should have Clarke, Moore, Ejaria and Hoilett for the Christmas programme hopefully

Mid February was Meite’s expected return date so suspect there’s a good chance we see him in January unless he has a setback.

Yes hopefully we have those four back by Christmas but doubtless others will be injured before then.

Assuming Joao back in January and Meite in Feb do we really keep hold of Carroll? Potentially we could have Joao, Meite, Puscas, Azeez and Clarke all fit by Feb.

If Carroll was willing to sign till the end of the season it would seem a no brainier, even if he is used as an option to throw on to help Joao.

Not quite injury watch but certainly availability watch - are we potentially losing Yiadom and Rahman to AFCON for a lot of January and February?

Yep - they have qualified - so will be missing for a number of games. Big blow.

yeah didn't want to be too optimistic, but if his leg is 90% back to where it should be 6-8 weeks doesn't sound out of the question

Rubbish - and that is from my own experience. 9 months is the target date for any sort of return - impact and full fitness, but for a professional footballer he needs to get fully fit. He wont play in 21/22 season.

OK, I’ll email Dr Walden and tell him that the players he studied never actually existed and that everyone who gets an ACL injury will be out for at least nine months because that’s how long it took one random bloke.

The fact is that professional footballers are typically back in competition in much less than 9 months.

Come back to me at Christmas to tell me i was wrong then, i will be waiting.

You back trawling again

And to be honest, what a dreadful post to quote based on a bloke doing weights, suggest you need to look up ACL recovery times

I am often told you are premature Ian and unfortunately thats the case here. I am sticking to my 9 months.

Rahman will be the problem, no experienced left backs to cover just inexperienced youngsters at least at right back the cover isn't perfect but is "more qualified".

And perhaps Ejaria might make the Nigeria squad.

FWIW, Lewis Cook of Bournemouth returned to action last month after being off for just under 9 months with ACL injury.

Let's not forget that this used to be a career-ending injury so we just have to hope that Meite returns in as good a condition as he was before-that is not always the case.

Andy Yiadom has a soft tissue injury. Femi Azeez picked up an injury in the game v Hull.

Harsh on Femi as that was a pretty poor tackle from the Hull game, came right in from behind and had a good swipe at his ankle, could've happened to anyone at any time in any match.

Got a yellow didn't it?

Hope its no more than a knock, thought he was excellent. His first touch is incredibly good. One of those things that make you realise how good you have to be to be a pro!

Happy enough with Tetek filling in as i suspect he will in the AFCON at RB

Yeah, I think it got a yellow, was quite late on the in the game. Yeah, thought he looked sharp as well, tbh.

Hopefully Yiadom's injury is enough to keep him out of AFCON squad, but not so bad he is back quicker than thought :? but yeah I think Tetek would be fine there for a few games once he is more up to match speed.

Azeez looks a prospect. Perhaps should have buried the chance late on but it was s great defensive block.

bit frustrating there is no news on a contract extension for him. Will be very annoyed if he drifts away on a free. He looks bigger and stronger than he did back in Sept as well

He looks great and I have also noticed how much physically bigger he looks too.
One to keep. Definitely.
