Brogue Moore has posted on Twitter that he’s got away without serious injury and should be back soon

That’s a shocker, could’ve been a season ender for sure.

To be fair to the ref I did not see that in real time but it should have been a sending off for sure. A right ankle breaker. I do wish our Captain a speedy recovery.

Yeah, it all happened really quickly, I don't even think our bench went up for it? I cam't really remember what happened, just remember Moore being on the floor on obvious agony.

I have sympathy for the ref in that situation, like you say it happened quickly and in real time it just looked like a standard foul.

Opens the debate about VAR being used in the Championship. It is such a high stakes league that there is an argument for having it at that level. No idea how they would find that many officials to oversee it but it might be worth trialing at some point.

I was dead against VAR when it first came in over here but I think it was used really well at the Euros. From what I understand the Premier League are trying to replicate that approach to VAR this season so it should definitely improve.

Will never happen. Cant even pay the refs a good wage never mind have them full time for starters. Only time it could be used is play off semis and final.

Ref gave a foul against Morrison.

To be fair to the Peterborough player he was tussling with Morrison, was off balance and slipped. Unfortunately (or fortunately according to some on here) he collided with Moore as a result. Total accident, not a red card in my opinion.

I have just watched it back on Royals TV and it really doesn't look like much of a foul in real time and to be fair to the Boro player I am not sure there was any intent. And so definitely not the ref's fault for missing it. It just looks horrible in the photo. I wonder if even VAR would have had time to pick it up. Perhaps you just have to put it down to a freak occurrence.

Why you never go from.a.photo, they distort everything.

Hope Moore is back and able to sit on the bench for the rest of the season soon.

Exactly, refs, even without VAR, can usually correctly tell straight away if it’s a bad/reckless challenge, even more so when players themselves are right on top of it and you get the proverbial “handbags at 10 paces” breaking out.

Michael Morrison confirms that Rafael did punch a whiteboard, just bruised his hand by doing it, and was back training today
