Agree with Dellor for a change. Couple of dozen games and he'll make better decisions.

We've been poor on the break for ages. Look terrified of making a mistake or pulling the trigger, so at least he went for it even if wrong decision.

Please can we get Ejaria back so we can drop Moore and put McIntyre in the middle and Bristow and fullback.

And get a new defensive set piece coach.

Because the defence is a shambles.

Hip / groin.

Hopefully hip and Impact.

How have Preston not scored. Absolutely shambolic defending.

We really make teams believe they can beat us / equalise don't we.

Decent going forward, absolutely awful at the back.

Some top saves by Cabral today.

MUST. CHANGE. DEFENSIVE. SET. PIECE. SET. UP.

No team with a 100% record already after game 2. When was the last time that happened?

Great 3 points 8)

Issue is though, how bad is Joao?

Really need to see if a striker can be brought in quickly. Been saying that more or less since Joao arrived though and nothing’s happened so not holding my breath on that one.

Also Stoke (a) & Preston (h) - 20/21 = 1 point
But Stoke (a) & Preston (h) - 21/22 = 3 points

So better than last season already.

Thoroughly entertaining afternoon of football. Thought we played pretty well and looked good on the break. Should’ve been 3-0 by the time the penalty came around but as with the Stoke game, this team has shown it can come from conceding a goal and make something happen.

Azzez is a talent, but lacks composure, which I’m not worried about at all as that will only come with game time.

Swift ran the show, if he stays fit for 75% of the season, we win more games than we’ll lose, comfortably.

Everyone else did their job as well as expected. Rafael with a top draw save towards the end.

On Preston, looks a bit bleak for them at the moment.

Great performance, quite comfortable really.

Set-up seems to be designed around carrying Bristow, which worked quite well. I don’t think he’s capable of pulling his weight at this level yet - seemed to leave most of the attacking to Swift and the defending to McIntyre.

Azeez on the other hand had an energy and directness to him that was a breath of fresh air. I do think he’s ready for a significant role.

MOTM between Swift, Azeez and Laurent, with Rino also very good.

Get a proper left back in and we’ll be fine, as long as we don’t have more than one injury in any position.

Is this also the back from the game thread?

Took a while to get into watching football again, but it felt like old times, a few reasuring faces around me of old timers you hoped hadn't popped their cogs due to covid and one guy who used to have short hair now looking like Brian May having not bothered getting a haircut through lockdown or since.
As the game progressed I started to get into it again, didn't have a clue who half the players were (unreadable shirt numbers don't help) and don't even remember us signing the guy who scored the first goal - I need to get revising on player names/appearances.

Great result, good performance.

Biggest LOL of the day was witnessing someone mistake someone with a yellow shirt on for a Golden Gamble seller
