Skybet Odds-watch

by Simmops » 21 Aug 2021 11:20

Thread to watch odds incase any of you lot are gamblers like me. I use skybet myself so odds are from there.

Not looking to good for us on the markets today, as bookies have Coventry down as favourite

Win
19/20 (Cov)
Draw
12/5
Win
29/10 (RFC)

Few price boosts just gone live, BTTS and Cov 4/1 , BTTS and RFC 13/2

Matt Godden and Tyler Walker the favourites to score first at 5/1, for us its Puscas at 6

Hoillet at 8, Azeez and Swift at 9 . For me always Value in Holmes and Tmac at 55/1.

BTTS yes 4/5 and no 10/11....AVOID as there won't be many goals.

Personally for me I'm going for under 1.5 goals at 2s and Coventry win with under 1.5 at 4s

Abandoned SkyBet in favour of bet365 for this season and am seeing odds boosted by about 20% most weekends.

Still not won anything, mind.

I've won a few biggies this year already.

I am on a big losing streak. To be fair I back outsiders ( mostly horses, but also football).

I’m with Paddy Power.

Don't understand loyalty to a particular (online) bookmaker - wouldn't you just go with the best odds, and open a new account with a promo along the way if necessary?

In any case, SkyBet would be pretty low on the list.

Inertia I guess.

I had about 700 euros in that account after a few big wins two years ago. It now has less than half that.

B365 is the best for usability imo. PP and Sky Bet both good for offers. I tend to use oddschecker for singles, but B365 for multiples or if I'm in a hurry, as they've got a very good search function.

I've started betting on goals scored, usually +2.5 goals in the game. The odds for most games are generally 1/2 or just below, so stick £10 on +2.5 in the next Reading game and you get around and you make £5 profit if we win, lose or draw as long as the total goals scored by both sides totals 3 or more...... the problem is when you lose, you need 2 wins to make your money back.

B365 is the best site I find, although Sky have good offers. Sky also show the goals + and - the other way round which has caught me out 3 times, 2 of those worked out in my favour as less than 2.5 goals were scored!

B365 new customer offer recently was put £100 of bets on and you get £100 of free bets back or similar, which was handy.

My advice

1. Have a budget
2. Start small - if you can't turn £10 into £20 then you're never going to turn £100 into £200.
3. Know when not to bet, don't just bet on something for the sake of it
4. Keep records of every bet and how much you win/lose and a total
5. If you win big, take some out - ideally put money in, win and then take back what you put in initially, Then you're only gambling with "free money"
6. Don't be afraid to bet on Reading, if you watch us play then you may know us better than the bookies who set the odds
7. Keep the stakes consistent

I'll be honest, I signed up to a tips service and they give me loads of tips - Had about 7 wins in a row, made a profit last month. Now at a small loss because I upped the stakes at the wrong time and had about 4 duds in a row. Clawing it back though slowly and resisting the foolish urge to be stupid and put more money into my account to try and win it all back quickly. It is great fun having a small bet on a game if it's one bet365 have live coverage for, I've watched some Australian, Korean and Swedish football matches recently

You cant even bet on Derby to be relegated now - they must think its 21 points incoming. Although they are 1000/1 to win promotion.

And only a few betting companies are offering odds on Reading to be relegated now too. Looks like the bookies reckon we are most likely getting a deduction.
