Another way of looking at it.................

Currently, one of the bottom 3 has to get 1 point per game more than us until the end of the Season.

Without checking, I seriously doubt whether - over any sequence of 11 games this season - that any of those bottom 3 teams has gained 12 points on us during that sequence.

I would even suspect that, in the event of a 6 point deduction, none of the 3 has gained 6 points more than us over any sequence of 11 games this season either.

Alternatively, as it stands at the moment should we not win another point for the rest of the season, one of the bottom 3 would have to win 4 of their remaining 11 games.

Thus far, Blackpool and Wigan have won 7 games this season, Huddersfield 8.

And if we were - for example - to beat both Hull and Birmingham at home in the next few weeks, even with a 6 point deduction we would be almost certainly safe.

A couple of weeks ago on one of the other threads I opined that none of the bottom 3 would get 44 points; I see no reason to change that viewpoint.

A very fair view I think, I'd be surprised if any of the bottom 3 get above 46 points (1 point per game) and I think we've got enough about us at home to pick up enough results.

I'm anticipating about 10 points at home between now and the end of the season which, even after our deduction, leaves us on 48 and we will probably pick up a couple of points/win away from home as well, so I feel we will get to about 50/51 which will be more than enough.

Besides, even if one of the bottom 3 does begin to pick up, I'd say QPR and Birmingham are probably in worse positions than us in terms of current form anyway and it'd likely be one of those 2 that would end up dropping, if anyone. Hopefully it doesn't reach that point.

Down under 20 now baring a deduction.

19 (25)

Number keeps dropping despite us losing 3 on the spin.

Not as lucky as we were last season.

We're a better side than we were last season as average as we are now

Debateable. We have a better manager than much of last season at least. Not sure I'd call us stronger in many positions.

Hard to take much encouragement from this while we're waiting on a points deduction.

The real magic number is 10. If we win our next 10 games we will be safe.

8, because that would put us on a total that can't be beaten even with a 6 point deduction.

Why can no one ever get it.

Factoring in the games left, opposition for all, averages...

Without points deduction 4 points (win and a draw)
Points deduction 10 points (3 wins and a draw)

Can we get this over the line.

On current form?

No deduction: Yes, should be easy
With deduction: Probably final day stuff.

How many will we tick off and how many will be down to QPR / Huddersfield / Cardiff dropping points.

I'm not sure we'll take more than 6 or 7 off that, probably 4 or 5.
