These pathetic players dish out a performance like that in front of their own supporters in the final home game of the season.

People will still defend the team.

People will defend Ince.

People will defend the owner.

The club is rotten to the core, it is fundamentally broken. Dead.

From the bits and pieces I saw, I’m not convinced at all. Like someone said very slow going forwards. I think we miss Swift. I’d hope that PINce gets a chance to re-build. I’d also hope we could keep Laurent, but highly doubt it somehow. Dreading off season simply because we’ll have no money to invest and we might end up scrapping for our lives all next season.

Ince "Saves Reading"

But in terms of ppg, I'm not exactly excited

I personally would not award the first game to Ince (as previously discussed)

WITH that game

P13 W4 D3 L6 15-24 = 15 Points (1.15 ppg)

Extrapolated to a full season that is:

P46 W14 D11 L21 53-85 53 Point Season

Without the First Game

P12 W3 D3 L6 13-23 = 12 Points (1.00 ppg) = 46 Points Season with a GD of 46-81

There is VERY little (if anything to choose (in terms of wins, points, GD) between Pauno and Ince
and IMO Ince had a better non-injured squad to pick from

That was poor. Plenty of players staking a claim to not be offered a contract. Everything just lacklustre, although a nailed on 0-0 without a Drinkwater special

Nyland 5 his kicking isn't great, he was unconvincing on the goal, spilled a routine one and Tmc berating him for not rushing out to claim a through ball. Not good enough
Thomas 6 ok, bit mixed, something there but lacked understanding with the team
Rahman 6 felt like he was coasting, ok
McIntyre 7 won a footrace and plenty in the air
Morrison 7 solid
TDB 6 tidy
Drinkwater 5 ok except for the numerous errors and gifting a goal
Laurent 6 lots of good running, probably the only one actually going for it, but plenty of errors too
Hoilett 6 similar to Laurent but not enough worked
Ejaria 6 everything you expect from him bar the really spectacular
Joao 6 little stuck to him or worked

Abrefa 7 did his job, not always comfortably, but promising.
Meite not really involved
Barker 4 that was a bad cameo

So much for giving people 20 minutes Paul, unless you meant total for all the fringe players combined across 2 games.

Having identified not enough stretching as a possible reason for all the injuries, I expected a shit hot warm up. What I saw was that word of the day again. Lackluster. Shorter than Brom's, less thorough than Brom's. And Thomas goes off injured after something innocuous.

Very real chance of losing our last 3 in a row. Which is exactly why I was saying see how we finish the season before we decide. So far, so bad. He's obviously improved us but too many if the old weaknesses are still apparent. Still issues with his use of his bench.

Even the lap of appreciation was pretty half-hearted.

If we lose at Luton

Ince Record

0.92 ppg "42.46 Point Season" (without Game 1)
1.07 ppg "49.29 Point Season" with Game 1

Dreadful. Atrocious. Zero shots on target. Rarely anywhere near the WBA penalty box. Yet again having left sided players playing on the right but naff all play on the right despite the fact WBA had a youngster making his league debut at left back.

And all capped off by the standard error from a seasoned professional (he was better in All Creatures Great and Small by the way).

Then get home to hear the manager saying the team played well!

Really hope it’s everything that changes in the summer.

Ince saying we played well has serious Paunovic vibes, get him gone. He kept us up, give him a nice bonus and wish him well but anyone who thinks he is a long term solution are as clueless about football as our owner is.

Thing with Ince is he's ok. Which is better than the majority of Dai's appointments.

Strong chance if we go for someone else they'll be no better, or worse.

Thing with Mowbray is he has experience of dealing with difficult owners (The Venky's) at Blackburn. Id have a bit more faith in him standing up to and standing up for the clubs best interests than Ince. He's also got a good record of bringing through youth players too. I'd be more than alarmed if we gave Ince the job without even interviewing Mowbray.

I don't dislike Ince as a human, think he's a decent bloke but he's been out of the game too long imo, football has changed and the Championship is tougher than ever. Just don't think he's got it in him.

That was terrible. But apparently we played well.

This is the worst Reading team I’ve seen - they’ve got the talent it’s just the sheer lack of professionalism, application or pride.

WTAF was wrong with Joao? He played like he’d never trapped a ball before.

Joao is such an odd player. Either feast or famine with him, body language in the last two games has been awful. Got to think he will be desperate to go in the summer.

Can you blame him - too good a player to be playing for such a shit team to be honest. Love him to stay as he scores lots of important goals, but would think he would prefer to join a team not scrapping for survival.

Would be interesting to see him in a decent side tbh. You would think a few of the better Championship sides will be taking a look at him. He's only got a year left on his deal too hasn't he? Wouldn't take much to convince the club to sell.

Paul Ince: “I actually enjoyed the game – it was just the result that was disappointing for us all. The main objective has been achieved – to keep the team in the league. But of course you don’t want to lose a game that you don’t deserve to lose!”
