Anyone surprised by the projected attendance clearly didn't attend Murty's testimonial.

Just seen cureton is making a special appearance!

Hardly comparable. That was the celebration of one player. This is a celebration of the entire football club. Which do you think is bigger?

It’s the Royal Wootton Bassett carnival today but I know where I’d rather be. I like to take my son to games but he’s working so I promised the wife that we’d go for a few drinks in the high street and watch the proceedings.

I think the poor turnout is symptomatic of the disconnect that the club has now with the fans.

I feel little attachment these days, and I'll be in the pub instead.

Don’t we all, today is a bit more about fun than having principles

Almost exactly the same players played, except they were ten years younger. Actually I think Murty’s testimonial celebrated a larger part of our history than this match does.

Who is the McDermott keeper?

Also, I'd re-sign Leroy Lita

not a clue, but what I do know is that up until last night, one of the ground staff (my nephew) was going to have to play in goal.

Leroy? funny that you say that

Final score 2006, 5 2012, 8

Smashing day out…decent sized crowd in the end too :D

I would also re-sign Lita  He played like he does not do friendlies. Best moment was Sonks' massive hoof into Y26. :D :D :D Also, he looked exactly the same as his playing days. What a beast; and Curo is the Benjamin Button of football.

Brilliant day out and there was definitely not a tear in my eye at the end.

Lita was terrific. Both Murty and Convey have put on a lot of weight. Kebe as skinny and as elegant as ever. Not sure why Little was playing as CDM a lot of the time. Bless him. Genuinely a lovely afternoon and good to see Coppell and SJM hugging at the end.

We even had a bit of Hard Fi to finish with “Hard to Beat”.

Lovely stuff.

Yep I felt emotional and also a bit sad. Not sure we will have those wonderful seasons again.

Their one last hurrah.
We’ll never see those lads together ever again.
Think they enjoyed their day

Was nice to be amongst a happy crowd for a change too.

Took all the fambam to this, all thoroughly enjoyed the day and the great atmosphere.

Fabulous line ups, fabulous effort from the players and more great memories made from these two sides.

Highlights for me was meeting Cureton (at last), how skillful SHunt is still, and seeing all the players on the pitch for one last time.

Well done to the organisers who arranged this. Top notch.
