Yeah, it was lovely and sentimental - I wish some of the current team were there to see what it COULD be like and feel a happy stadium. Crowd was 8500 and great to see so many old shirts.

Lita apparently still playing decent non-league and it showed. Doyler hasn't lost his touch either. Some cracking goals. Brian Howard hat-trick rather unexpected!

Yeah Leroy switched from Nuneaton Borough to Stratford Town, then onto Hednesford Town last season (where he played 1 game and scored 3 goals)……the boy’s still got it!

Got something in my eye just before ko when Murts trotted over and acknowledged the fans.

Great to see them all out there.

Lovely to see Sir John centre of attention again.

I didn’t recognise Stephen Hunt with the white hair.
Couldn’t believe there were muppets booing HRK when he came on. Muppets.

Didn’t hear that, was mainly polite applause where I was sitting (thankfully).

A shame Bryn never got pitchside until after the game.

Cracking match. Very nostalgic and felt bit emotional when players first came out.

Sonko smashing ball into crowd great but loved the "Sockgate" moment best of all with Jimmy responding to crowd in pulling up his socks :D .

A few players still have it. Leroy, Doyler, Hunt. Looks like Jobi could still do a job at a decent level too.

Had no idea a couple of the subs for Coppell's team. Who came on for Murts and Ivar?

Another highlight were the two ladies downing their pints at the back and the steward allowing them to do it :D . The Head Steward wondered over, not sure he was as quite as impressed

Yeah wasn’t sure what was going on but saw that people were laughing. All good natured.

Aaron Brown (I think) for Ivar

The substitution announcements left a lot to be desired, and some info on the screen would’ve been nice.

That was a special day.
Loads of smiles, loads of memories flooding back.
The players obviously enjoyed it and the crowd certainly did.
Murty was a star, playing to the crowd, wandering through the East Stand chatting to people. Would really like to see him back at the club maybe in some sort of fan liaison role.
Was great to see Doyle and Curo but equally pleased the likes of Manset , Goldbourne and Brown cared enough to come back, they didn’t have to bother and the big name who coukdn’t Be bothered really wasn’t missed.
Huge thanks to the organisers, the players and the club for doing this.

It would have been nice to have had a commemorative match programme.
The PA system was muffled and inaudible.

Wish I had been able to go. I now work alternate weekends and this was one that I was working. It says a lot about the current team that I am prepared to work weekends now. When these two teams were playing I used to do anything to avoid missing games.

Manset retired in 2019 at 30. He played for just the 18 clubs in his career

Well worth the trip down to the Mad Stad today - so good to remember what it is like to enjoy a game with no frustrations. Such an enjoyable game, and great to get that feeling of seeing sides that you could really get behind. Loved seeing a few heroes afterwards as well.

Agreed about the lack of commemorative programme - who was the goalie for the 2011/2 side?

NathStPaul Really shocked this is seemingly going to be so poorly attended. I know the club in recent times have let the supporters down very badly on and off the pitch but you'd think that would all be forgotten in favour of seeing the group of players and managers who never let us down.

Fans have to know it is happening. I didn't find out about it until a couple of weeks ago, and I'd made other arrangements by then, disappointingly.

Usually there'd have been build up in the programme etc, but not this year, obviously.

He's a beast. Thought he had a good input to the game. Unlucky not to have scored as well.

I must give a shout out to the top of Y24 who kept the singing going most of the game. Funny as hell singing to the ball boy on his own in the seating of South stand "Your support is oxf*rd shit". Murty was ace as well with the banter. And Sonko yellow carding another player.

Dragged my and jnrs sorry arses to this from London and it was even for a miserable cnut like me an absolute delightful afternoon.

Some of the ex-players looked in great shape and some of the others didn’t.

A great afternoon Jimmy Kebe is still skinny as fcuk and Sonko and Ivar looked great.

Ah fcuk the passage of time.

I was in two minds whether to go to this or go to the L1 play off final but I definitely made the right decision. What a brilliant day, met Hunty, Kebe, Curo by the car park then the two managers and captains in the megastore - all seemed delighted to be back and I think quite touched by the numbers that came out - Jobi was videoing the queue outside the megastore.

I was surprised myself at how emotional it was seeing those players again and remembering how much love you could feel for a team - in sharp contrast to recent seasons.

I hope we don’t have to wait so long for something similar, maybe a 20 year commemoration of the 106 team? Was also thinking I’d like to see the Pardew promotion team back sometime too; Butler, Rougier, Parky, Igoe etc. That team laid the foundations of the success to come and would be great to acknowledge that one day in a similar way.
