Sounds like a fresh injury setback for Liam Moore, not sure of the extent but not expecting him to be involved for #readingfc tonight.

Out for season.

https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/spor ... st-season/

Perhaps now the club can concentrate on filling his place in the 25 with a free agent midfielder - Isco maybe

Are we actually allowed to do that or did we just get special dispensation from the EFL for Casadei?

For the record, I can't see why we wouldn't be allowed to do it again providing we still fall within our agreed business plan.

We had a space in the 25 for Casadei, there was no question of special permission.
We might be allowed to remove Moore from the 25 but we’d be limited on salary for a replacement.

Good job we had that space for Casedei or else we’d never have seen that underwhelming 45m he has played for us so far

I thought we moved Tetek out from our original 25-man squad in order to accommodate the deal?

Royals and Racers
Snowflake Royal Who was it telling me Moore would be in by Cardiff and play a big role in the rest of the season?

ROFL.

It was me !! and i think your glee might be premature. :)

Doesn’t look like it.

God I'm looking forward to next season. If Ejaria goes and Rahman doesn't come back it'll be paradise.

Sutekh Current Injury status:

Name - Injury - Game expected back - Date

  1. EJARIA, Ovie - Knee - Cardiff City (a) - 17 February 23
  2. HOLMES, Tom - Calf - Cardiff City (a) - 17 February 23
  3. HUTCHINSON, Sam - Bristol City (a) - 01 April 23
  4. MOORE, Liam - unknown - Out for season
  5. TETEK, Dejan - unknown - Out for season

I'm sure Ince said Holmes had no chance for Cardiff, may have mis-heard

Ejaria won't play again, he'll pick another injury in training (assuming he is training)

Ince rested today due to fatigue

Hendrick and Holmes should be back for Blackpool next week.

Long had concussion, also expected to return for that game.

That would make Long the third Reading player this season to receive a head injury that looked like it resulted in concussion who wasn't subbed when he should have been.

Has anyone checked if our medical team is actually qualified?

Hutchinson and Rahman out for the “long term”. Former has been a massive waste of a squad space (although the latter hasn’t been much use either tbf). Joao and Ejaria still out. Holmes is 50/50

Long, Hendrick and Ince all back. Would presume the latter two will slot straight back into the side

We’ve missed Holmes - would be good to have him back

Hutch been a disaster. Though a cheap one I assume

Can’t say I’m too disappointed about Baba

Sorry about Hutch, has looked thoroughly decent when he has played. One of those things at least he didn’t cost millions!

Good to hear about Rahman, at least that means NGW will get some much deserved experience and while he’s not perfect at least he offers something going forward (and reduces Ince’s options to be too negative). Hopefully that’ll mean Azeez getting more game time as well.

Shame for Hutch because, even though I think he's a bit rash at times, he gives us an edge and some bite at the back or in the middle and his positive qualities add something to the side which we don't really have. We don't really have an experienced, tough tackling defender/midfielder without him. I wonder if he will consider retirement at the end of this campaign, or he might give it a full pre-season and wait until his contract is up at the end of next season.

Rahman out for the long-term might do us more favours in allowing NGW some more gametime potentially and it might mean a few weeks on the side line might just give him chance to recoup a bit and see if he can finish the season in much better fashion than recent weeks.

Holmes, Hendrick and Ince must come back into the side and Long will help boost the squad at least as well.

Yeah, Hutch is pretty much just one of those things with what pickings we had available and our questionable medical team.

Be pleased to not see Rahman or Ejaria step on the turf for us again. Joao being out means we're more likely to be giving time to someone who might be here next season.

Also, Rahman can be the "non-selectable sixth loan player" whilst he is out. Saves Ince having to drop someone.

Rahman out means we don't need to worry about which loan player to drop

Intrigued by long term with Rahman, if he is unlikely to play again, could we not send him back and free up a potential free agent slot?

Guessing as it's a season long loan, probably not.

- Hoilett out for 6-8 weeks with hamstring injury
- Moore back and could feature over the next week

So that's potentially Hoilett's season over then, I still can't gauge the Moore situation. He went from being out for the season, to back within a week now. It doesn't add up really.

But at least it means we can play Yiadom at RWB/RB or possibly give Abrefa a good run in the team as we approach the back end of the season as well.

Hoilett is no loss, he’s wasted being forced into a right back type of role and for me has looked tired ever since returning from the World Cup.

Moore will probably break down the first time he plays so getting anything there will only be a bonus.

Agree that is surely a chance for Abrefa to get involved now.
