I think we basically ran Ince into the ground. I'm not sure even the most competent medical staff could've fixed that.

The Tom Ince issue is very convenient isn`t it, no major injury all season then a week after he takes criticism from some quarters for being aggressive to team mates he picks up a knock, how very timely

If you were a player and you knew a points deduction was coming and you're already struggling to pick up any points, so probably going down, would you continue running yourself into the ground or would say you can't play and you're injured and down tools.

Not saying everyone would do it, but some probably would. Hell, some have probably been doing it for a while because they don't want to be here.

I doubt it with him because he's a contracted player to us, playing under his Dad. I could understand it if it was a loan player or someone out of contract knowing they aren't going to be here next season.

Tom has a petulent streak in him. So given the stick he got and the stick his dad is getting, and perhaps already knows he's not here next season. I wouldn't completely rule it.out.

I'm sure Ince said yesterday that Baba was "nowhere near ready" and Hutch out for season, so with Hoilett that's 8 out for the final month

In addition to the above Andy Carroll has a hernia problem and Amadou Mbengue has a thigh injury but both are able to play. Tom Ince is out for a “few games” - so that’s also goodbye to much of the team’s creativity and dead ball expertise. Really not looking forward to any of the next 3 games or so.

All in all a second successive fantastic season of constant injury problems and while you can lay some blame on the league for enforcing stupid squad limitations making for smaller squads (and quite possibly endangering player safety, particularly with condensed fixture lists) you have to say the idiot way the club has been run (especially in relation to the succession of utterly stupid managerial appointments which rendered the breaking of ffp utterly pointless in the first place) has even more to answer for.

Seems we may have to factor in Ramadan too following Ince's latest litany of excuses!

Stating a fact isn't really an excuse. It is Ramadan, the players who follow it do have to change their normal routine, and his comment on it seemed to actually be praising his players for their commitment.

There are plenty of genuine things to criticise Paul Ince for tactically but the full on tantrums from fans at every little thing he says post match, or posts the club makes on social media are pathetic.

yeah been seeing these comments on Ramadan as an excuse but thought his comments were more a praise of Meite than a criticism.

The trouble is that fans are hanging on to every comment and every nuance because so little ever comes out of our club to keep fans connected.

Down here there is still a Daily newspaper and there are always at least 2 full pages devoted to all matters AFC Bournemouth.
At times there are just space fillers such as quoting other teams' managers speaking about Bournemouth or progress reports on loan players and how they are doing at their loan club.

I am not sure what our club should be doing but on here there is a strong feeling of a disconnect between fans and the club so whatever minor comments Paul Ince comes out with become over-analysed and over-scrutinised because there is nothing else between matches.

Oh for the days of Royal Line where, for 25p a minute, you could hear 5 minutes of adverts before the day's hot off the press news that Ian Branfoot took a dump.

I'd rather there wasn't a pre and post match interview every game. There's rarely anything new or meaningful said.

Things go well - meaningless positive soundbites.

Things go badly, meaningless excuse soundbites.

Not great for Easter games...

Mbengue fit
Carroll and Meite 50/50
Ince - further injections then scan in a week, could make last 2 games

Dann back in training, but no one else near.

So basically 9 now out for rest of season

From what I can make out from twitter re the press conf:

Tmac, Hoilett & Long - working hard but not ready
TInce - hopefully back last 2 games
Ejaria - maybe last game

Nothing on Baba or Yaks unless someone else can fill in

Assume everyone else out for season

The latest on the injured that I can make out is:

Name - Injury - Game expected back - Date
  1. BOUZANIS, Dean - ? - Not expected back this season
  2. EJARIA, Ovie - knee surgery required - Not expected back this season
  3. HOILETT, Junior - hamstring - Not expected back this season
  4. HUTCHINSON, Sam - knee - Not expected back this season
  5. INCE, Tom - Wigan (h) - 29 April 2023
  6. LONG, Shane - hamstring - Not expected back this season
  7. MCINTYRE, Tom - hamstring - Not expected back this season
  8. MEITE, Yakou - ? - Coventry (a) - 22 April 2023
  9. MOORE, Liam - ruptured fasciitis - Not expected back this season
  10. RAHMAN, Baba - ankle - Burnley (h) - Not expected back this season
  11. TETEK, Dejan - unknown - Not expected back this season

Those not expected back might make a game or two between them but I really wouldn't put any money on it.
