It's not like we don't have two months and the possibility of emergency loans to sign an addition keeper, given they won't be starting, if Lumley turns out to be shit / gets injured and Andresson can't step up.

And at 20, a season of bench warming and cup starts in the Championship isn’t going to do him much damage with 40+ professional starts already under his belt.

I think the point is, Southwood's not that good. If he wasn't an academy graduate, no-one would bat an eyelid about him being told he can leave.

I also think that if it wasn't for our current financial predicament, he'd have gone 2 years ago

He doesn't have to be that good to sit on a bench. It's not like Bouzanis is going to be that good as a 31 year old playing in L2.

He obviously doesn't want to sit on the bench though does he, ince has been here 5 months and already signed 3 keepers to keep him out of the team.

It's 10x better for his career that we sign a replacement and let him go somewhere now while his stock is still relatively high, than in a years time off the back of benchwarming for a relegation battling side.

Just countering the argument that we have to sign someone because FDTW thinks he isn’t very good.

We do also have Andresson who can sit on the bench. And could benefit from some Championship matchday experience. And acres of time to sign a keeper for the bench if Andresson goes on loan and Southwood does leave. As mentioned earlier.

Forest are looking to send Lyle Taylor out on loan. He could be a good replacement for Puscas.

It's not me who doesn't think Southwood isn't very good, it's the club. Id trust their judgement over anyone's on here. I just don't see any point in hanging on to someone who's clearly surplus to requirememts whilst we can still potentially get something for him. We replaced him twice last season with loanees and short term contracts, he's 25 in December and his career is going nowhere and apparently he's on half what CBC is on.

Has anyone ever heard of Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill? I live in Wootton Bassett and a couple of Swindon fans who go to the same pub as me have said that he used to play for them and we’re looking to sign him. I have searched everywhere but I can’t find anything linking us to him. Apparently, he’s a quick left back so it sounds semi believable.

Yeah JLow mentioned it a while back

Sounds like a possibility

One area I think we can compete is loans. Being as I doubt the champ club picks up much of the wages at times and there’s a very good chance of first team football

That’s where we really need to come up trumps imo

The one area Kia had his use. Loans from Arsenal and Everton. Should hope we tap into the Man Utd market now that Derby have lost their "in" and hopefully Newcastle have several decent players they're still willing to ship out. Arsenal just released a Spanish LB who was apparently quite a decent prospect before being usurped by another academy product.

We’ve had decent links to Chelsea and now this chap from Spurs. Ince may still have some utd/Liverpool connection but prob not

Would be ideal for kids from Arsenal with the decent training ground and relatively close and likewise Brentford if they have experienced players they don’t need

Should be lots of potentials

Brentford don't have an academy so you could imagine, after they cement a Premier league spot, loans will be very important for them. Could probably get Fosu back...

Has Puscas returned to pre season training?

Not yet, Puscas returns next week along with Southwood, Abrefa, CBC, Clarke and Hoillett(?) who were all away on international duties.

Yiadom returned last week out of choice apparently. Says a lot about the man.

Thanks for clarifying. Is Southwood due back because I am not aware we triggered the one year extension to his contract that expires this week?

He’s on a 2 year deal expiring next year isn’t he ?
All the conversations regarding him would have been totally different if he was actually OOC this summer.

The club's track record is excellent isn’t it.
