Mildly interesting

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2022/j ... ge-s-park/

Puscas apparently still on additional leave and slightly suprised no Dorsett or Camara in this squad, whilst the likes of Holzman and Leavy are

No mention of Clarke either

Hasn't Clarke been off playing for Jamaica? Not surprised he wasn't included.

With hundreds of players without clubs you can bet players and agents absolutely are ringing round selling their services....

Yep I'm sure there are, just not sure many well run clubs use that as their method of identifying targets

No, but I bet there also aren’t any who refuse to take incoming calls.
Bowen doesn’t even suggest it’s our only approach, just that it’s one that he has covered (by a member of his staff, not him).

Just going by what he's said, lets see who we end up with. So far its very much been a family and friends approach

Surely the point of Bowen's quote isn't that we're waiting for people to call us, but he wants a non-heirarchical approach where everyone and anyone is able to raise possible targets to scout and check out. No matter how they're discovered.

Maybe. Good to know that any of the staff, not just the manager, can ask for their son and son's best friend to be given 3 year deals then.

Anyway, Holzman seems to be at the front of the young CB queue now, travelled with the first team ahead of Stickland, Dorsett and Abbey.

You really aren’t.
And very few of the players we’re linked with fit your description anyway !

My expectation is relegation. We narrowly survived last season and our squad is significantly weaker.

There is still quality around - Joao could be a Premier League player, and Meite, Ejaria, Yiadom and McIntyre are good enough for a promotion-chasing side. But our midfield will probably be fatal, and I don’t have faith in Joao remaining fit enough, and consistent enough, to keep us up.

Relegation is my expectation, anything better than that will be a pleasant surprise. Need at least two midfielders and a left back for me to feel hopeful.

I’d go as far as to say hark at Jackson Corner up there.

In a shocking turn of events, I'm feeling a bit more positive about next season.

But then I've done 16k steps on almost no food and just had a couple of beers. So I'm not to be trusted right now.

I think the beer has caused you to type 9 characters too many (including the space)

Well my judgement is certainly impaired right now.

But I've eaten so fingers crossed for a quick recovery.
