Sharpy lol.....dont know what to make. could be coincidence that a new firm has sorted themselves out now we are in the premiership and come from the surrounding area and not Reading itself. the Slough Scorpions?!

i dont condone the events if they did happen, but i hate people saying Reading is a 2 bob family club with no atmosphere and no rep. in a school playground you would be seen as a pussy, our town is seen as pussyish

We are a family club really, we've not exactly been known for having great atmosphere either.
I always get stick down the pub about our fans but just laugh it off and give it back to them.
You have to admit though, Madejski Stadium's not the most intimidating of places.

It definately seemed to intimidate on saturday for a number of reasons. Both inside and outside the ground.
When the madejski is in full song its effing loud, I don't care what anyone says. At the same time when its not full and no one's up for it, its dire.

Who'd attack a disabled bus, a serious reading hooligan wouldn't be so stupid. Probably just a pissed shirter who couldn't tell the differance.

Dirk Gently One of STAR's board members is also chairman on NADS (National Association of Disabled Supporters) and so I'm sure if this story is accurate then a proper complaint will be made.
Yay! Go Nads, Go Nads.

Sorry.

No. SROT would not attack 'dribblers' or 'retards' as alad charmingly describes the disabled...... After all why risk a revenge attack on their own travels?

I wonder if these scorpions were actually playing " wind of change" when they were attacking the bus.

Has this been previously said?

Is there some sort of code of conduct amongst 'serious Reading hooligans' then? How does one apply to join?

Gav http://www.mdsa.co.uk/contactus.asp

So far we've got some guy claiming to be the Chair of the Disabled Supporters Association telling us of these events on an anonymous forum.

Why doesn't someone ring em if they're convinced it's true, and find out what happened?

STAR has contacted the chairman of MDSA and it is true that the account of what happened to the disabled coach was true.

To quote his email:

and it was while at a set of pedestrian lights these couple of yobs went OTT. The usual sign language and foul-mouthed banter between fans I can understand (and expect, if truth be told?); after all our fans give as much as they get, and it happens at every ground in the country, but I cannot reconcile the behaviour of these guys who were very menacing, intimidating, and spoiling for confrontation. I'm sure true Royals fans would be disapponted by this, as would Boro fans if it was the other way round. It took the shine off what had been a great day out.

I hope that those who did it are proud of themselves as I am certainly not proud of them and hope that the rest of us can make them realise that we do not want to be associated with them as that is definitely the concensus on here

Hardly sounds like an 'attack'.

Exactly what I was thinking.

As for the person who attacked this minibus it was probably some pissed up twat who was trying to act hard and show off.

If it happened...

It did happen and is being a pissed up twat a good enough reason to frighten other people?

Regardless of the severity of the "attack", these are a load of kids and banging on windows etc is going to appear a lot nastier to them than it would be to many adults.

Whilst not knowing the ages of some of the posters who are taking this as unimportant, as a parent I would be pretty angry if my kids were subjected to this sort of thing (and not too impressed if they were doing anything to incite it either to be honest!).

As starliason said, it is nothing to be proud of and I trust that it was made clear to the Chair of MDSA that whilst all clubs have some fans who step over the line from time to time, the vast, vast majority of our fans don't.
