Lita has no chance of playing for England, just not good enough.

Ashton
Rooney
Owen
Bent
Defoe
Crouch
Walcott
Johnson
Smith

Just a few of those ahead of him in the pecking order.

Shorey has a much better chance.

Let's face it unless you are exceptional your only chance of playing is if you play for the Big 4 (Champions League experience bla bla) and if you are you need to be at a 2nd tier club (Spurs, Newkie, Everton). If you're outside of those and a prospect you won't be outside them for long (odds on Sidwell to Utd to do the Keane role?)

My suggestion is we build a 38K capacity stadium, become a 2nd tier club and then our players will be knocking on the door.... as if!

In essence that is correct, unless you play for a really big foreign club, Spurs, ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal (not that there's much chance of that at the moment) or are Stuart Downing (or Michael Owen) you have no chance of playing for England unless a) there is a serious injury/suspension crisis or b) its a pointless friendly and the manager can throw in a few different names as a sop to the media.

Case in point is Emile Heskey good enough for England  when at Liverpool but not within a gnat's b*****k after leaving, same with Robbie Fowler. Jermaine Pennant, no chance of England suddenly now beginning to be mentioned.....

There is no way sidwell will get a chance to play for england you just have to look at the other players fighting for a place in the team in that position or that could play there:
Gerrard
Lampard
Hargreves
J. Cole
Carrick
Parker
Nolan
Barton
Reo-Coker

and jenas

so even though i think sidwell is a great player i don't think he will be getting a call up any time soon

Kitson would surely be ahead of him too assuming he plays much this season.

Not one of the current squad will ever get a call up to the england team. Not because they dont have the top flight ability (they dont) but until the move to a 'big' club they will never ever ever get selected.

I'll get my coat

Based on todays England performance, even John Halls could play for England.

Mr Hoppy Small problem of Ashley Cole being, possibly, the best left back in the world at the moment.
... also had difficulty walking on that ankle tonight. He'll be Mr Hoppy in the morning.

Shorey has as much, if anything... harder competition than Lita has.

I suggest evertime Lampard, Terry and Cole touch the ball on Saturday they get a chant of 'England reject'.

Can't wait for a Spurs back-pass in a few weeks time.

Sonko. He'll never play a proper game for Senegal, get an English passport and will be him and Terry at the back for Euro 2008 (if we get there).

Cole suspended for next qualifier, may be a slight possiblity of a Shorey call up as back up to Bridge. Unlikely though i guess!!

Now that deserves a LOL!

Sonko is the poor mans Ledley King, someone who can't even get a regular game for England.

I would say that the first Royal to play for England hasn't signed for Reading yet.

If Kitson or Lita start banging the goals in regularly they might be in with a shout if injuries work in their favour.
