SWLR A thread last week included a post with the image of 11 cartoon divers, anyone remember which one?

My daughter (6) is doing a collage (sp?) of the game. She's done the pitch, printed off pictures of 11 Reading players to stick on, just needs the Chelsea 11 now!

This one?

I also didn't hear the "let's all do a Chelsea" from Y25, we were all doing the "Divers".

The answer to this stupid bickering is simple.

Whatever is sung from Y24/25/26 can't be heard by just about everyone else in the rest of the East, North and West. Its just bad acoustics. its always been like that.

Hence why about 2,000 were singing 'Divers' and about 20,000 were singing 'Lets all do a Chelsea'.

Whats so bad about that? the whole gorund singing 2 funny songs and mocking Chelsea.

Good stuff.

Interesting comment from the 'Special one' on the Chelsea website.

All I heard was "divers" which stunned them for a good few minutes, none of this cringeworthy lets all do a chelsea chant. Fair play for actually making a noise, but it would of sounded pretty poor. "divers" however got the response from the chelsea fans as they were sat right next to us.

I will say this however, good to see the north, some of west and the opposite end of the east stand singing and it is loud, especially when the whole ground does the same chant. Blue army is deafening when all join in.

One thing is for sure

The only thing that Chelsea fans heard was Divers, Divers and that is what shut them up
They were making a really sustained noise that we couldn't match until Divers started up

I really hope all Premier League fans took note and use it every game agianst Chelsea. They don't like it!

Not sure he'd get ignored if he stood up in the East Stand and came out with all of this crap about wonderful Chelsea!

Yeah but the Chelsea players saw the actions (of the LADAC) every time that they looked away from Old Mother Riley's apron

me and my mate thought it was weird how the Chelski fans were louder than us on TV. thinkin about it now, we might have been hearing "Let's all do a Chelsea".

Chelski fans must have heard it as they sang 'lets all do a Reading' complete with diving motion when Doyle was chopped by Terry in the 2nd half.

Yes, enough of the arguing, we've been making a hell of a racket this season, just ask the teams we've played against. Doesn't matter who's singing what, just keep that sort of noise going and you can't ask anymore.

PS. East Stand is the bestest and sings louder and better songs. 8)

Is there any footage of "Divers" on youtube or anywhere else?

I hear Sky showed it during the game, but it wasn't included in any of the highlights I saw.

Am I the only one who thought it all looked a bit camp? It reminded me of the dance routine at the end of Blazing Saddles.

Wasn't that the point though to a certain extent?

No they weren't. They simply did the diving action, didnt hear them chant anything, just a load of abuse.

"Divers" and "lets all do a Chelsea" aside, IMO the chant that really shut them up was the "Where were you on Wednesday night?"

A smattering of "England" chants were soon drowned out with the realisation that the so called England stars were nothing short of inept last Wednesday, and the Chelsea fans really had no retort to the truth. Best put down in a long while from URZ.

And it got a mention in a few of the media reports which makes it all the sweeter for me.

harold

love to focus on the game rather than all the stuff about the keepers

then we'd be talking about how you barely had a shot (I can remeber one, apart from the goal) and hardly troubled our defence as man utd, man city or even middlesborough did

you can make out that its sour grapes but as mournho is, your just trying to cover over the fact whether it was us closing you down and not letting you play, or you not being on top form, chelsea on sat were'nt a patch on the quality of football man utd played here a few weeks ago

if we had expected to win (which 99% of us didnt) then being beaten 1-0 with a lucky double deflection might have p***ed us off

so you cant really level all this "you just bitter, coz we beat you" crap at us can you ?or maybe you revel in all this "no one likes us, we don't care stuff ?"

maybe thats closer to the truth ?

No doubt about it: the chants were red hot on Saturday and left the Chelsea fans sprawling for responses.
