International Royals

by rotherwick_royal » 11 Jan 2007 12:53

I was just thinking the players we had for the Burnley game...

Federici AUS
De la Cruz Ecuador
Sodje Nigeria
Ingimarsson Iceland
Golbourne England
Ki-Hyeon S. Korea
Oster Wales
Bikey Cameroon
Convey USA
Lita Congo
Long Ireland

So 11 different nationalities in the starting 11 (I know Lita has played for England U21 but he was born in The Congo).

Has this ever happened before?

In footballing terms that makes him English, which is the relevent nationality to use as this is a footballing thread.

Fair point, just realised Oster was born in England, so Lita would be English by the same criteria. So 10 out of 11 !

Whilst they struggle to play an Englishman at Arsenal they've probably not fileded 11 different nationalities.

They did just recently, and they even beat it by not fielding an Englishman...
