Any one of Doyle, Shorey, Hahnemann, Ingimarsson would have been fine with me. V difficult to choose.

I voted Hunt. Shorey surely deserved a shout too.

Based on the start of the season, I'd go with Doyle or Sonko, but they did not play in enough games to be considered. Shorey and Ingimarsson were rocks throughout the season. Either one of them is gold.

All though ingamarson is great i still think he needs to work on his ability on the ball as i think he puts it out for throws and corners too easily when he could just shield it out but on the whole a quality player.

Congratulations Ingi. Fantastic signing at £200k, model professional and I will take this opportunity to apologise, I thought at the start of the season he wouldn't be good enough but how wrong was I.

I'm fast coming to the conclusion he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

Well played to Ivar. Wasn't sure he had an outsanding feature to help him survive in the prem, but he's proved me wrong by just being solid throughout. Quiet. assured and does the job well.

special mentions to Shorey and USA, and Doyle and Sonko who may well have been challenging had they not suffered injuries.

For me one of the best defenders in the premiership this season and an absolute royal rock particularly given the regular changes of personnel around him.Our saviour on many an occasion.
Taking nothing away from other players in whats been a fantastic squad effort in our debut prem season but Ivar absolutely deserves the POTS award.
Ingimarsson what a bargain what a bargain.

Yep.....Well Done Ingi

Since the demise of Sonks he has had to boss the raw talent of Bikey, the experience of Doobs and the various language barriers that the Rest Of The World Players that have featured in the back middle.

And to think he used to get crucified (and booed) by some of you, the fans, on his first season.

His choice of favourite "RFC Goal of the Season" concurrs with mine too.

Steve Coppell said the first goal wasn't onside.

Going by that he did think Shittu's goal was ONside but thought maybe there was a foul (blocked)

I've been wondering all season when the first was going to do that to Reading.

Fair play to Watford for thinking that up.

interesting that it was former Reading player Darius Henderson that did it as well.

Thoroughly deserved as most people have said. It's reasonable to assume that when Sonko is fully fit next season that he and Ingi will be first choice centrebacks, initially at least. Why therefore in these last few games when Sir Steve has said he wants to try things out for next season as he not gone with a Bikey/Duberry partnership? Ingi has had a great Reading career and so far has been relatively injury free, by the law of averages this will change. With Sonks having to feel his way back gradually a Bikey/Duberry pairing should have been tried. When they have played induvidually they have improved game by game but we need to see them together. After all DLC and Halford have been given games, Gunnar as well, and Seol and Oster have filled in for Blakey.

Would not have been my choice (plumped for Shorey after much deliberation) but I'm still delighted for one of the teams unsung heroes.

Whoever had won the award, once again it was in the context of nearly every player having had a good, if not outstanding, season.

I doubt that Ivar, along with the rest of the top 3, earns anything remotely close to £25k a week, and I remain delighted that the club appear to have taken this into consideration when dealing with the wage demands of others who have not performed as well, in their eyes or, the fans.
