29 November 2005: LEAGUE CUP ROUND 4
ARSENAL 3 READING 0

Arsenal: Almunia, Eboue, Larsson, Senderos, Gilbert, Muamba, Djourou, Flamini, Reyes (Cygan 75), Owusu-Abeyie (Bendtner 83), Van Persie (Lupoli 63). Subs not used: Poom, Connolly.

I may be wrong but won't only a handful of those players have a hope of starting against us? I'm still not even sure about all of them...

cmonurz Reading 1-5 Arsenal

Adebayor hat-trick, Doyle with a last minute consolation. HNA? team board full of dipsh*ts telling us we won’t go down and only Judas and his even more traitorous brother Humphrey would claim otherwise.

Because of course a loss against Arsenal is as relevant to going down as a loss against Fulham, Sunderland, Wigan or Derby. Almost every other Prem team will lose to Arsenal, so you just discount it in the season's terms and move on to raising hopes and fears in games that will really count.
Anyone without longer-term ambitions or a semblance of belief in the team at this stage of the season who thinks a loss against Arsenal "confirms" their doom-mongering about the season as a whole is someone who deserves the dipshit label.

"I told you so" only applies at the end of a fact, not halfway through it's progression.

FWIW
I think a cracking game full of drama, entertainment, and loads of goals.

I should think something like 2-3 or even 3-3

still, it'll be a pleasure to see their silky skills

I want to win (OK OK, or draw) this one even more than against Chelsea.

The Arsenal bad run starts here.

1-0 Reading.

For this game to be pointable we need to retain posession. We Wont, and thus will be beaten heavily.

This look are a class apart anything else in europe currently. They could be the best ever team to visit the Mad.

Just an opinion.

Fair enough !!

Good point on ball retention though, give Arsenal the ball and they will use it....

Sonko quoted in today's Times talking about Adebayor: "Apparently he doesn't like to be kicked. I'm not like that but if I have to kick him, I will"

Perhaps Sonko has found the winning formula.

I don't think they are the best. To be fair they are looking very good but they haven't won anything yet.

Lets hope for a chilly night at the Mad House, a cracking atmosphere and a nice 2 - 1 win with a last minute winner from Leroy !!!!

Also away from the Emirates they have only played 4 away games , Blackburn, Spurs, West Ham and Liverpool. 2 draws and 2 wins.

Some dangerously optimistic posts on this thread, whatever will happened next? Unqualified support for the team and all it's efforts, SC to smile his way to another good job well done? I seem to remember beating Soton ("can we play you every week") and Wolves ("FSB and a Sh@t football team") unexpectedly at Elm Park on cold winter nights, oh happy days! Bring on the Arsenal and let's get into 'em!

After the distances people were getting on some of their paper [card] aeroplanes I don't think they'll be doing that again! (thank f**k)
I think Mr Mad should come on the pitch at half time drinking straight out of a bottle of red screaming for our support, that would be quality "coooome on, let's be avin you!"

It would be a massive cook-up if our JM did a Dee-Dee!

"Here for the Reading you're only here for the Reading"

Or maybe borrow Naarich's caterer's, who poisoned an entire party, allegedly!

I think the teams home form will hold firm and they will give Arsenal a good run for their money.

Reading 1 Doyle 70
Aresnal 1 Van Persie 51

I dont think we will be hammered
