Either a draw or a close win for Reading.

earleyroyal Boro are a fairly physical team and with our featherweight central midfield and shaky defence I can't see past a 2-1 defeat. The usual 94th minute consolation goal but we never look like being in the game.

Boro 2 (1) - Alves 27, Young 49
Reading 1 (0) - Kitson 90

I will gladly eat my words if proved wrong with a 3-0 win.

good luck with that, youngs suspended

Business as usual.

A good 2-0 win.

Lita to score and Doyle.

southsideroyal Murty will be proud of our effort. Coppell will not fault the team but admit that Boro were the better side. Harper will be gutted. Hunt will state that we need to kick on.

...and there'll be ten Cup Finals sitting on the wall...

Before the Bolton and Villa performances, I would have been hopeful of a first away win with this one. Unlike others, I've not been that impressed by Alaves and Mido. I'm more concerned about the flanks, especially if Kebe starts - I'm not sure he'd help (presumably) Murts much. Maybe a job for Rosenior? The guy who came on for Boro on the right on Wednesday looked good as well, so Shorey better be up for it.

However, I have hopes for 1-1. Tuncay for them, Long for us.

Boro 2 - 4 Reading
I predict a riot, and the start of a month that see's us winning every game, with Sir Steve bagging the Barclays MOM at the end of it

So many people are predicting a goal from Lita-will he actually play?
Presumably this is all based on Coppell saying that there would be major changes and differences would be buried for the moment.
Don't forget Coppell also said (not his exact words)that we would be buying loads of players in the transfer window and there would be no foreigners.

BTW our record is abysmal over the years in the North-East and I can only remember the 1-0 at 'boro in 1994/5 as a positive result.
Prediction-a plan to get a 0-0 which goes pear-shaped after conceding twice in the first 20 minutes after which we change back to a 4-4-2 ,score twice to get back in it and then give away a stupid penalty or own goal in added time after John Halls is brought on to shore up the defence and everybody then goes on about how unlucky we are.
Hopefully this prediction is way out and we give our long-travelling fans something to cheer them and us up as with the win there in the previous glory days.

The Guardian
A first away win of the season tomorrow would reinforce that belief and also help Coppell to banish the memory of the worst league run in the club's history. The Reading manager admitted that he has been left "embarrassed" by the failure to pick up a single point this year, although the players have not sensed his discomfort. Indeed Murty believes that the manager's "selfless" approach could make all the difference over the final 10 weeks of the campaign.

We will win one game away from home this season. This will be the one. Boro will be thinking of their heroic victory in mid-week.
Reading to win 1-0. Lita (78 mins).

A suprising 2-0 to the Royals. God knows why but I am feeling very confident today. Suspect that will have changed by about 16.45.
