Harpers So Solid Crew Good points BF.

I dont recall this negativity when the team were on a roll last season, that was a season with a parachute payment, and a manager who seemed to get some underperforming players going.

From outside it now looks like some are underperforming again, but now there is no Siggurdsson to cover their short comings.

Having just seen them play at Torquay, it looked like they had gone backwards, the desire was not there, especially in Rasiak, I am sure you will agree there BF, as you saw his play that day. Lazy and uninterested.

That's Rasiak summed up though, even on a good day he looked lazy and uninterested

Rather have him back and get rid of Shane Long

Royal Lady If anyone still thinks that we are going to be a force to be reckoned with and will be in with a shout of promotion this season, next season or any other season whilst the club are unable to plough money back into the club from the money garnered in sales, then, personally, I think you're wrong.

So who was wrong?

I put a bet on at Corals on Friday for us to get promoted this season at 4/1. The odds are now 11/4.

We may make it this year, but only NEARLY. Nail-biting surprise excellent run of form thanks to the magician that is BM.

Not an unwise way to play it really - leech money from the club and squeeze every last drop out of what you have left on a budget and who knows they may nearly make it.

LOLLY.

I'd love to see a graph of our position through the season over the last three years to see just how muchmid-table mediocrity we've had. Perhaps with a comparison to Coventry who seem to be a perennial mid-table mediocre team.

And my definition of mid-table mediocrity is a team that goes through most of the season with little hope of play offs and little serious fear of relegation. So I'd say something like 10th to 18th, as that gives three places either side of relegation and play offs. Maybe 11th to 17th.

Just dividing the table into thirds isn't very sensible given there are six places of import at the top and only three at the bottom. But then I would say that, because I don't think there was anything mediocre about our last season, even 9th place.

No I was at the game lol. I've only been in the chat room once during a game.

There's usually a few impersonators in there. What was 'I' saying yesterday?

I guess this was bound to get dug out again.

It is still all about opinions though.

And it seems that the person with the right opinion at this moment in time is John Madjeski. We all know that buying expensive players is a risk, as is not buying expensive players, JM has gone down the build from within, he has said for a long time that we need to build rather than buy, and he has followed this since relegation. His way is paying off at the moment, we must have one of the lowest cost teams at the top of the table, anyone got any figures as to what this squad cost in comparison to the others?

It's totally irrelevant what our squad costs compared to others, I don't care if other teams spend more or less.

It's the results, performances and the long term stability that count, nothing else at all.

This thread was pessimistic rubbish when it was posted, and I don't think any of the events of the last two seasons have shown it to be more than that.

I cant help but think we have been incredibly lucky finding a manager and players that can create this kind of spirit.
